Default JL 10W6v2 or 10w7 Custom box which amp?

IM thinking about geting 2 10W6v2 's for a custom fiberglass box that my buddy is going to buld for me. But I never heard the 10W6v2 's or the 10w7 so im not sure what to do at this time. I wanted 2 10w7's but that was expensive. I can eather get 1 10w7 or 2 10W6v2 's. What do you guys think would be a better choice. The box will be made to fit the specks of the sub(s).

Here is what im thinking about for the one 10w7

or this for the 2 106v2's (just 2 subs)

Please Help...... THanks!

I'd rather have the w6v2, just not a fan of the w7. IMO, the w6v2 hits harder and lower when properly tuned...Just from my experience. The w7 is for SPL.

CopperZ ,

I am thinking about the same, but like to just use only one sub for my setting. Whats a good amp for it?

Stu,

Does PG make a Xenon 5.0:1?

I currently have the Octane series R5.0:1.

The PG does have the bass control. I've got a 300.1 Tantrum that has it. I'm sure the Xenons would have it.

Go 2 10W6V2 slot ported. You can run either the JL 500/1 or PG 400.1. If you wanna get crazy, you can push 600 to it. I know a guy pushing 600 to a 12w6v2, it's the same driver as the 10 so it's possible.

The w6s are discontinued. They were replaced by the w3v2 as something similar.

I had 2 10w6v2s, slot ported in my truck. It was a lot louder than my 3 10w6v2s sealed. I was running an Xtant 3.1 to each sub.

Stu46,

Is 10w6v2 a dual coil (4ohm)? Would a PG Octane R5.0:1 be enough? The PG Octane is rated at 300rms at 2ohm.

Right now it is pushing an Infinity Perfect 10.1d in a sealed box in the stock location. Still enough bass/sound for my taste.

Thanks man.

Tony

No. You could have it like nazar's enclosure, under the strut. Or, you can have a sub/false floor. You'll lose your spare if you do.

Two separate 400.1 will give you more power than a single 8.0. PG makes awesome amps.

Yes and Yes. I'm only running 300 watts RMS to my 10w6v2. My PG Tantrum puts out 336 RMS.

Guys (mofoz),

Since we are at this topic, does anybody put a 10w6v2 in the stock location. If so did you build a box for it? Whats the dimension of the box.

Thanks,
Tony

Tony,

Check out **********. Toykilla is building a box for the stock location. I don't have the dimentions, but I know he's trying to gauge interest.

BTW, I've given up on this site and moved on to greener pastures. Motoring and -tech.

I've seen ****'s. It's in the stock location. Install looks really clean, but I didn't hear it. Bill, how's the sound?
