Default is it ok for the 300/2 amp to flicker the low impedance light once n a while!??!?

I blew my original infinity perfect 6.1's after blasting em for 6 months, and so now i realized im gonna turn it down a lil more from now on in order to not blow this new pair of 6.1's. I did notice 1 thing tho, is that if im playing a cd with a lot of highs in it (such as raekwon's first cd, or jedi mind tricks cd) if i play it somewhat loud the low impedance light may flicker once every 30 seconds or something. When I see it I usually turn down the music a notch, but is this normal for it to flicker with the highs once in a while. Also I may have figured out that the reason why i have had the thermal light come on so many times in the past year was because I was probably slowly but surely ****ing up my speakers and it probably messed up the impedance of the speakers which led the amp to have to work harder to put out the same output therefore leading to the thermal light coming on. What do you guys think.???????

im trying to be more cautiious this time around.

I don't know about the low impedance light flickering, but I imagine that it isn't good. I have the 300/4, and while I am pretty sure it doesn't flicker, I don't know for sure (never looked at it). But it sounds to me like you may have an intermittent short somewhere, or your speakers or amp may be bad.

are you sure you have the speakers wired correctly? i think the jl amp would only have the low impedence light go on when under 1.5 ohms (since it's stable down to that point). and with just a set of perfects i dont even know how you could wire it to under 1.5. that's weird.

^ right. Even if the speakers were being damaged their impedance shouldn't change. If the low impedance light is coming on you are driving way to low especially with a quality amp like that. The heat issue is a direct result of the impedance light/issue. The lower the impedance the higher the amount of power, and heat. I would recheck the wiring to make sure that you haven't inadvertently wired incorrectly to drop impedance.
