Default Burnt Navigation DVD Stuck???

Ok... I just got my car used with navigation and was missing the DVD so I burnt a copy using a dual layer DVD+R (8.5GB) of a nav CD out of an 03 Altima and now that I've inserted it into my DVD drive, not only is it still asking for a map DVD but now it won't let me eject it!!!

Anyone have any idea what I have to do???

Only reason I can think of:

DVD+R

I told you in your other post, you should have used DVD-R. +R is not very compatible with most things.

Just picked up my car... Now this is weird...

Turns out the original nav disk was in there all along, and for some reason it wasn't "programmed" so that's why it kept asking for the map DVD. The strange part was... how come I couldn't eject it if it was in there (alone) originally??

And then when I added the DVD+R disk in, it jammed the ejector completely because the slot now had two disks in it at once. So for $45, the Nissan dealership removed the burnt copy and programmed the original Nissan DVD that was apparently in there all along, and it's working perfect!! Yay!! I'm happy now!

DVD-9, which is a DVD-R are only available to the DVD movie industry at the moment. Early 2005 the PC burners will be released at a street cost of $300, the discs will be $10 ea. until the market catches up.

I was going to say - it doesn't matter the format of the DVD/CD - your ejector mechanism is messed up.

If I put a computer CD in my car's stereo, it wouldn't get stuck, it just wouldn't play!

Glad they fixed it for $45 - seems reasonable. Did they question you about the burned NAV DVD?

Shahrum,

Have you tried to use your burnt NAV DVD now that your player is working correctly?

If so, (and it works) what software did you use to burn the DVD?

-Thanks

I know you can buy them at zenrin.com however they are $185. If anyone has a DVD for any other 05' Nissan with Navigation I'm sure they could help a lot of people out and make a couple bucks. There has to be someone out there...
