Default Nav system for '05

Hey guys. My 1st post. I have a basic question. I am in the process of spec-in out my '05 and I can't decide on the Nav system. Will it play regular DVD's when parked? Or is the system totally dedicated to the navigation and nothing else?
I tried the Nissan website and also my sales drones at the dealer but could not get a good answer.
So far, it will be a touring coupe, orange with charcoal leather. And btw, I finally saw the light and trading my Hemi Ram to get the "Z".
Thanks for any advice.

Navigation and nothing else. The units do not have the decoders necessary to play a dvd video disc. It is set up to play dual layer dvds. If you want to play dvds and have many other options I would get the alpine nav-852a nav system. you can get the tme-770 monitor and have so many other options. dvd, back up cam, etc.

You can play DVD's in your NAv unit, however, you will have to buy an aftermarket DVD patch cord system<<<<<not sure what its called but it runs between $250-400. Do a search on this topic. GL!
