Default HE HE HE...

Yep, meet the resident Guinea Pig... LOL! I am the one doing the testing for them, and the Nissan factory NAV system has required them to make some changes. We are very close to getting this wrapped up, and we should very soon. I have some further testing to do today, and there is a good chance that everything could be wrapped up by the end of the week. Since I am a believer in Murphy's law, I won't make any commitments until it is totally completed, and working to my satisfaction.

To answer your question: Yes, it does work, and if you already have the P7000 tuner, you are ahead of the game. Some fine tuning was required for the Z, and that is what we are wrapping up right now.

By the way, Dmitry is a nice guy, and has been a pleasure to deal with. I have spoken to one of their engineers, and he is very good as well. Their support has been great, so far, and my emails get answered usually within a couple hours.

I will post a new thread, once I am satisfied with how this is working, but that should happen very soon...

I am not sure about special pricing...

I agreed to plug them, as long as their solution was as good, or better than anything else available, and I feel that it is. They gave me a special deal, but it has been a lot of work on my part, and alot of going back and forth with them. Being an engineer myself, this project hasn't been anything I didn't expect. I will mention to them the possibility of a price break, for people in this forum, but it will be up to them...they are a relatively small company, so I don't know how much they can break on the price and still sell it for a profit. I do know that they have done a considerable amount of engineering on the interface, and it works great with the Pioneer TV tuner...

Take it easy, and I will let you know how its going, or at least when its done...

Question Re: Details...

the cost will be around $300 for their "black box" called the PBA-N1. The Pioneer GEX-P7000tv is about $250-300, so the total would be around $600, not including the shipping costs.
Ummm... are they still in business?? I cannot get to www.video-nav.com at all. Any updates on this??

Not really sure...

I just tried their site, and it was a no-go for me either...

Maybe their site is down for maintenance or maybe they went bye-bye. I haven't spoken to them in several months, but they did have a good engineering staff, and tech support person. Everything has been working, so I haven't had the need to contact them...

Do you happen to have a contact number for them at all? I am all jazzed about doing the install, but am a bit gunshy when it comes to all the wiring and circuit board construction. I'd much rather pay for an "all in one" solution. Let me know. Thanks! :-)

You should contact a guy by the name of Dmitry at Video-nav.com. Be sure to tell him that I sent you (my name is Todd). He should be able to help you out, as long as these guys are still doing this type of work. The current economy has killed alot of small tech companies, and hopefully these guys are still weathering the storm.

When I was working with these guys they were making all new connector interfaces so that they could provide a plug and play black box solution for the Z. I provided them pictures of the harnesses, plugs/connectors, and all wiring diagrams from the factory service manual so that the job could be completed. Obviously they gave me a super deal on the system, but the next generation system they discussed with me was supposed to be very user friendly to install, and they provided good technical support for me, along with very detailed hookup diagrams. I was happy with their support and products.

Let me look up some contact info, and I will send him an email to verify that they are still in this game.

I will repsond back to this thread once I get their new info...

Cool Deal!! I have my fingers crossed that they are still in business because the other options are either too expensive, or to technical for my taste.
