My Bling Install - Watch It Progress
yeah MB QLine tweets are going in the stock location. The trim bezel will be painted gloss silver to match the rest of the interior pieces. My installer assures me they will sound great with a slight angle towards the driver. Do post some pics though, im interested to see what uve come up with
im using the JBL GTi splits in the back now, and my installer somehow mounted the tweeters inside the centre of the main speaker. Im not sure if JBL set the speakers up for this, but there is a cap in the centre that could be removed and allowed enough depth for the tweeter and wiring. He even used the swivel cup so they are directional.....the guy's a gun

with the front MB speakers getting the full 160w RMS and the rear getting 80w RMS, this is going to be very loud
ive told my installer to see if he can incoporate the JBL cross overs in the amp rack somehow. Ideally id love to show the MB crossovers, theyre twice as big and look hot, but the JBLs will go with all the JBL amps. He says itll look really cluttered, im undecided

I see someone else also learned how not to pay ridiculous prices for Dynamat and find the home depot identical replacement for a fraction of the cost

thoses JBLs look mean, should be good...
i had the crossover issues, they were too big to fit in the doors, and i wanted them to be next to my amp, for show and to easily adjust the tweeter levels
i had them in the glove box with my amp...
for some reason i moved them to the floor under the drivers and passengers feet, i just cut the foam that is on the floor and put them there, if i do need to get to them it only takes a few mins to get to them and they are out of the way

To be honest, I can't really remember how much cheaper it was in my case but it was definitely much better than just 1/3 the price. The Dynamat brand is ridiculously expensive and believe it or not, the stuff at home depot does the trick even better. Just make sure you get the one with the silver backing just like in the pics.
If you go to the window insulation isle, you can't miss it.

Edit:I tried to link it but its not working. input this number (162767) in the "keyword or item #" search box and it will find the insulation.

They wouldnt fit anywhere else, and apparently xovers need to be as close to the speaker as possible
i dont really know..........
mine are close enough anyway.. from memory there is like 50-60cms or wire from xover to tweets and woofer
quite alot happened over the last couple days. All the parts were returned from the trimmer and the car started to get assembled
the tweeters have been mounted, the dash is in and the sub box and amp rack are in the car. Im told itll take another day to finish off, and then a day of tuning, so i should get the car back Tuesday or Wednesday.......i ca hardly sleep at night
MB Q-Line crossovers in the door. The factory insulation had to be removed or else these just wouldnt fit, they are at least 20cm long

Deck and centra channel are in. You probably cant make out in the pics, but the dash surround has been curved inwards around the centre channel. The silver paint match to the aircon and guage surrounds is spot on.....love it

MB Q-Line tweeters were a very very tight fit. The surrounds have been painted silver to match the door handles and other interior bits. They look hot

View into the sub box. Glass is missing. This panel was done in one piece. I dont know how the hell they did it, its incredible and a perfect fit. Also the vinyl grain matches the stock plastic trim perfectly

Amp rack and sub box. The front of the sub box is glass and around 10cm thick. That brown film is just paper protecting the glass from scratches

This is the panel that will go over the front of the sub box. The openings on the side have been cut as large as possible, or else the box edges will be visible at certain angles. Its been vinyled, just getting painted on the reverse side atm

Fuse block and my home-made battery earth kit. I didnt bother fitting an Optima yet, my installer says wait for the stock battery will die first. Probably will though the first time i wash the car with the stereo on

we decided against it for a couple reasons. One is that they're too far from the speakers, and secondly because itll make the amp rack look way too cluttered. Once the glass/trim sits on top of the amps, itll visually close it in alot more and u wont see hardly any of the amp rack floor on the sides or top
