Here are some pics of today's install. Just waiting on my EQ and some vinyl to finish the job.

Alpine 7995 with XM added
6 disc changer/mp3
136k Focal components
2 JL 8w0 subs
JL 500/5 amp
waiting on Alpine ere-g180 eq to finish the job

Sounds pretty good right now, I am still in the process of tuning it. It took quite a while to get it tuned properly in my last car.

Why did you go with 5 1/8 inch focal components instead of 6 1/2?
Am looking to upgrade to focal also and wondering if you used smaller due not alot of holes in door panel grill or for another reason. Thanks!

I only used the 5 1/8 inch because it came out of my last car. If I was buying new equipment I would have definately gone larger. I still might decide I want rear speakers and If I do I will just buy 6.5 inch Focals for the doors and move these to the rear.

I did the Focal Poly's in the 6 1/2". It's the 1st time I've tried them and it sounds great!

Highly recommend...

PS: Who did your speaker spacers??

I did the spacers by just tracing the factory speakers and cutting them out of 3/4" MDF

Can you take more pics of the rear sub box when its more done? Dimensions would be an added bonus!

looks good! question on the Focals. did you make the new pods only b/c its a smaller speaker? or b/c they needed pushed out for clearing the window parts? I'm might be doing Focal 180W's (7" kit) up there, wondering what clearance issues I might have. Lastly, any pics or info on how you mounted the tweets

You will definately need a spacer for most door speakers. I needed on on the 5 1/8 so you will need on for the 7". I didn't want to use a plastic 1" spacer for fear it would rattle.

How did you get the speaker wire through the wiring bulkhead in the door jamb?
