no nissan will not install there parts. that is not a factory nav system. its factory nav trim with a 7 in screen epoxyed behind the trim. it look factory. you can not install a factory nav system in a z that didnt come with nav because the wiring harness's are diferent.

We just did our first install on one of these Saturday. Thanks to this great thread, it went very easily. Took the tech 1 1/2 hours for his first time as he had some screen mounting issues, but the customers car came out perfect!

You can, here is my install in my '05. It's easier and cheaper in the 03-05 cars.

I dont want them to install the nav system. I just want them to install the trim/nissan parts. I can take care of the nav/carputer install.

I bit the bullet and called the nissan dealer in Canada about the finisher and the part was $69 canadian and he found 1 of them in Montreal. He faxed me a form that I filled out and sent back and he is getting the part for me. I am not sure how much american it would be but shipping will probably kill me for it. But the canadian part number and the american part number are the same. He did a little research without a VIN and determined that they should be the same part. So I will let you guys know if this is the right part number when and if I get it.

What do you mean? The customer service or service when you go in for repairs or warranty work? Because I hope they don't draw this thing out. It's already going to take long enough for it to get to to them and then have them ship it to me across the border.

Yeah, they were really cool to me and I feel they went above and beyond to help me out with this part even though the price is a rip off.

Got a question for those who installed these...what kind of screws did you use to screw down the switch assembly? mine didn't come with any. And I don't want to just try to forces screws in there and have something rattle around later.

And about the finisher. They got the part and they said it looks like the right part. They sent it out to me today. As soon as he labeled it as sold it went on national backorder in Canada so it isn't available there anymore either. It was like $69 + $20 shipping all canadian but to me, I already spent so much. It is worth it to finish it.

And I got my parts from Performance today and they look great, fit great, perfect. This is in an '07 by the way and I used the part numbers in this thread.

Ok, I found this shematic of the Navigation unit....why are there two wires used for illumination? And how do you tell on the switch assembly which pin is which?
