The TV screen in the cubby is actually "technically" a headrest unit. The reason you don't have to ground or switch any wires to make it think the e-brake is up is because it thinks its in the back of my headrest

So i only have to ask,
how did you run the speaker wire to the door components?
the Rear speakers make sense.
The front dont.

Did you have to rewire to the component from the amp?
^ this is the part i fear most.

Of course i have a base stereo. So if i ever want sub/better sound i have a long way to go.

I ran the speaker wire for the door components thru a black plastic piece on the outside of the door.

See if this helps..

I ran new wire from all the speakers to my Alpine amplifier. Just taped the Bose down to prevent rattles and in case I ever need them again.

Here's the DIY thread for it:

Oh yeah, be real careful when drilling that plug... some people lost their window/lock/mirror control :O

Nice work! I have a very similar setup although I am running a slim PS2 & nav hooked to an A/V switch instead of an Xbox, and the Pioneer double-din. Here is a pic:

Sounds pretty good to me I suppose. I'm not as big of a hardcore sound enthusiast as some people on here, so I wouldn't be able to tell you the difference between the Polks and a nice set of JLs. For what I want though, they work perfectly.

Awesome setup! Looks like a P4000? What Nav are you running on the external screen? I looked at the Garmin GVN-52 a while back when I was considering going that route.

That should do it. I plan on picking one of these up in the future to finish up my system.

ADMAN: what all did you have to by to get that screen in there?

Sorry man, I don't have an 07 so I didn't have to do any research as to which model would or wouldn't fit. I know the 03 cubby works, but as far as fitment in an 07 or matching the color of the dash I can't be sure.

Mounting a LCD screen in the upper/forward cubby of a ’07 Z is certainly possible and comparatively simple. There is adequate room behind the cubby’s “face.”

It’s a matter of cutting out the back of the cubby and building a mount to hold the screen. This requires some minor custom fabrication, but any high-end shop can do this. It certainly is less complicated that some of the extensive “glassing” projects we’ve seen here to do things like mounting tweeters in the A-Pillar or fabricating SubW enclosures.

^^ I get it now.

Installing a retractable door on an '07 would be difficult and expensive. That would involve a lot of fabrication, and the mechanical aspect would be prone to failure with repeated use. I wouldn't do it.
