nice job

seems like the sub would slap the metal mesh grill.... do you not have problems with that?

no, no problem. While off the sub rubber is lower than the black plastic part around it. The sub is in the box, the 1/2 inch piece of MDF wrapped in grey vinyl is on top of that, it sits just below the black plastic rim. The 1/2 inch piece of MDF with the grill on it sits on top of that. The grill is recessed in the 1/2 mdf, there is around 1/4 inch of space between the black plastic part and the grill. I tried the sub and when fully extended it it didn't extended past the black plastic part, meaning i have around 1/4 inch of clearance when the sub is fully extended.

This is all in theory, but Ive been pounding the system for 3 weeks now and i have seen no indications that it is hitting.

What about cooling? I have a similar set up - but installed 3 small 12V CPU fans on each side of the amp rack to circulate air through the system.
