Thanks guys...
Stu,
I got it figured out. In XBMC there is an option to "unstack" the directory, which gives you are single "*.vob" file to click on. Email me if you have any questions.

Dude that's awesome. I think the Xbox is the most unique feature about your car. Props for mad design.
I was looking to do something to my car because I'm tired of swapping CDs so much. I wanted to play MP3s & was going to get a standard MP3 CD player, but a friend stressed to me that I should get an LCD too. So I started looking into small PCs to put in my car, but the cost for a mini-itx PC was getting pretty high, thus I just decided on the Xbox. I'm not really looking to play games in my Xbox, but using it as a media "PC" instead. My car is always parked next to the wall where my room is in my apartment. So I think a wireless card to transfer back & forth media would help lots.
I'm still shopping for different pieces and finding info on how to connect things in my car. I'm not looking to go to the extent that you did, but you laid the foundation out pretty well. I was thinking about doing this: LCD, run cables to the Xbox in the glove box. Buy a Remote control to control the Xbox (modded of course), buy an amp to power it up. Use wireless adapter to transfer media files to and from my PC. It seems pretty simple I know, but I think that is a pretty cheap solution to what I am trying to do.
So here are a few questions, how exactly do you hook up an LCD in your 350Z? Do you have to drill holes or anything? How do you run the cable? Could you take a picture of where exactly your Xbox is and how it looks?
For the LCD, is there any particular reason why you went with the Farenhiet T-7000MHR (besides the price)? I was opting for touch screen for the mini-itx PC but then I realized if I was going to use an Xbox, a touch screen wasn't necessary. How does the screen look?
Sorry for so many questions. Anyone who knows how to answer them, feel free.

Thanks guys for all the compliments.
Thanks man, I like my sub design too
The LCD has 1 yellow video cable, that is ran into an auxillary adapter mounted under my seat. I also have a TV tuner, thus the need for an adapter for me. Basically just like hooking your xbox into a TV if you think about it. The xbox has composite outputs (yellow, white & red), your stereo will have the white and red (auxillary) inputs and you the yellow video goes to the yellow input on your monitor.
Basically the Farenheit is as simple as you can get, it's a perfect fit, not modication required to the 03 factory Nav spot, some use the 7001 but the 7000MHR works too. There are many tutorials on here on how to install it. I think the video is just fine.
Well this should get you started

Im juuuuuuust curious. You spent globs of money on the install but you used alpine's IMO crappiest component speakers ever. I've listened to those things in several different cars as well as on the wall of my dealer's shop.
I mean damn it! Im sure my estimation is way off but for 3000+ dollars I would want the type-x or f1 status components!
That is the only thing that irks me about your install, everything else is amazing!

I have the alpine SPX-Z18T & SPX-Z15M components in my car and they sound awesome.
Look them up, I think they won just about all the awards for best components of the year (2004) out of many car audio magazines and shops. You work at an audio shop, whos components do you think is better, because I'll check them out next time.

I love the way the Alpines sound and I am very pleased with them. In fact, the installer that was doing my car told me on more than one occasion how good they sounded and if it was his car he wouldn't put a sub in there (they had my car for 10 weeks so he had plenty of time to test it out).
Now as the estimated cost, trust me when I tell you your not even close, not even by 1/2. My monitor choice has been questioned too but it looks great. I could have went with Alpine and paid $400 more but seeing them side by side I didn't see a $400 difference. Now the new Alpine monitors are touch screen and are really sweet, probably would have been worth that difference.
That is what I based my decisions on, hearing those exact speakers on my exact amp and they sound great. If you live near NC I invite you down so you can hear for yourself how great they and the system sounds. Or you can read about it in the April/May issue of Road & Track Road Gear (formely knows as Mobile E or Mobile Entertainment) my car is going to be in that magazine for the install.
Not sure if your familar with the magazine [really only 2 car audio mags, Mobile E (Again changing their name to Road & Track Road Gear in their April/May issue) & Car Audio] but they have a section within the write up where they have an independant car stereo person listen to the cars that are in the magazine, then they do their onw write up. They are totally different people that actually do the install so they are not baised b/c they have nothing to gain or loose from it. Now this guy actually happens to be a competitor of place that did my install so I am very curious to read what he writes about the car. Anyway, let me know if you have anymore questions.
