DIY Rear View Camera Install
hey looks great. i did a similar install myself almost a year ago. i went to autozone and apparently they make a locking screw that fits license plate holes. i got it, requires a special key to remove.
i wired my reverse camera to be on all the time. i didnt tap into reverse wire at all. That way i can flip between video inputs and see dvd/ipod or backup camera. it's pretty cool when driving or at lights because i can see how close people get to my bumper.
i cant imagine not having this as it helps tremedously when backing up especially at night.

yea as long as it has a video input line. My farenheit screen has 2. so i use one for the dvd/ipod and the other for my backup camera. i can then switch video inputs on the lcd to which ever i choose.
My screen has two inputs I THINK (been a long time since I saw the back of it) but couldnt a relay be wired up with the trigger being the reverse signal, and when the signal is given it disables wire A.) going from head unit and then enable wire B.) going to the reverse camera. So you could use 1 input and not have to manually swap the screen. I dont feel the camera is worth it unless I can get it to swap when I enter reverse.
EDIT: how do you controll the swivel on that camera? is it just manual?

i'm sure you could setup a relay to do what you want. i didnt as i usually leave my backup camera showing while driving just cuz its cool

Try a BOYO-VTL-200 or 300 RVC CCD. Black or Chrome Zinc Alloy Frame. Well worth the price. Very high resolution night vision. Visionhiteac.com

I've been looking for a clean license plate rear view camera but the ones on ebay are fugly.
