2002 Japanese import 350z won’t start, no power to starter motor!!
Hi, I’m looking for help or ideas on my 2002 Japanese import Nissan 350z 3.5l v6, for context I got this car off Facebook marketplace about a month ago and it is currently no crank no start, it does start with a push start though.
I have done rather thorough debugging and I’m running out of ideas, I’ve tested the starter motor and there is no voltage going to the clip connector, I tested this by touching the multimeters positive to the connector and negative to random metal parts on the bottom to no avail, so that makes me think it’s electrical further up, when I turn the key in the ignition all the accessory parts switch off (radio, nav unit, lights, dash backlight) and the only thing that stays on are the dials, I hear the fuel pump and what not priming and I hear a click from the relay at the front, the immobiliser light is flashing like usual until I turn the key to the on and start positions when it turns off. My eye is on the immobiliser still as the previous owner wired what he called “the immobiliser” to the heated seat button for security and because there’s non heated aftermarket seats currently fitted.
Previously, switching on the passenger heated seat would allow the car to start but since this issue began I took that apart and followed the wire back a bit and joined the wires that way (it’s a yellow red cable and a green and white cable, no clue what these are) although I am unsure how to test if that’s a complete or correct circuit there, I’d like to get the car started and running, no clue how to diagnose this any further personally, I have already used a code scanner and I didn’t get much on there.
Battery is fine also and we have attempted to jump start it.
Any insight would be very very appreciated, I’m desperate to get this car back up and running.
Thank you all in advance!

The starter is grounded through the engine block. Have you checked the engine bay grounds yet?
To properly troubleshoot, you will need to get a copy of the FSM and start digging through the ignition system wiring diagrams and workflow. Someone has already been in there hacking wires, so that complicates things. Personally I would put everything back to stock. It makes no sense that you would need to wire an immobilizer to a heated seat switch unless you have a mismatched BCM/PCM or keys. Also, joining wires together that you have no reference for is a BAD idea, you could easily cause a short and damage modules, blow fuses, or worst case cause an electrical fire.
