Wicked CAS GLOVE BOX WITH JL 13tw5 COMBO DEAL LIMITED TIME
Wicked CAS GLOVE BOX WITH JL 13tw5 COMBO DEAL LIMITED TIME ONLY FOR $749.95 + Shipping
If you want to add an amp please ask and we will give you a smoking deal on an amp.
Please call your orders in.
LIMITED SUPPLY AT THIS PRICE.
ONLY 5 AVAILABLE AT THIS PRICE...
This is the baddest subwoofer you can fit in the Glove box area.
Performance specs on this sub I would describe as; Sounds like a 12w3v3 but performs like a 12w6, and can get low frequancies expected from a 13" sub with the tightness and speed of most heavy 10" subs. (description by me).
FROM JL AUDIOS WEBSITE 13TW5
• Extremely Shallow Mounting Depth (2.5 inches)
• Extremely Small Sealed Enclosure Volume Requirements .8 Cu Ft.
• Patented “Concentric Tube” Suspension Design
• Patented “Floating Cone Attach Method” Technology
• DMA-Optimized Motor Designs
• Very Large Diameter Voice Coil
• Long Linear Excursion Capability
• High Power Handling
• Cast Alloy, Tab-Ear Frame
• Injection Molded, Mica-Filled Polypropylene Cone with Santoprene Surround
• Frame accepts JL Audio grille mesh inserts directly RECOMMENDED.
TW5 design is optimized for extremely small box volume applications. Whereas a typical “small-box” 12-inch driver operates in well over one cubic foot, the larger 13TW5 is optimum in only 0.80 cu.ft. (significantly less volume than any other JL Audio 13.5-inch woofer).
To counteract the efficiency tradeoff of small box volumes, the 13TW5 is designed to handle very high power levels thanks to the use of very it's large voice coil (7-inch diameter).
So, if you're looking for premium subwoofer performance in the tightest spaces, you have not only found the shallowest automotive subwoofers on the market, but also the most capable.
American ingenuity is alive and well.

I have a nine.2 amp from Elemental Designs.
How is this setup as? dual 1.5 Voice Coils? or single 3 ohm voice coil?
My nine.2 amp should be able to power this correct? Here are the specs of the nine.2 http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_...products_id=45
I believe that the power @ 3 ohms would be 465watts continuous at 12.5 volts but my car will be above 12.5 volts. which will translate to me having to turn the gain down I'm betting as I see this sub gets in the danger zone of 600watts rms
I'm mostly worried about how to wire this up. 3 ohm sub is throwing me off.

I called, and it's not. But I will have a write-up for ya / and a review.
A question for someone whom has the box and the 10, how is the bass on it? Does it hard like a typical 10 hits? or is it mostly just punchy and not alot of bass?
How did you mount the box from CAS?

well, originally I wanted something along the lines of "feeling" the bass from outside the car and in. With the setup I have right now (box behind driver seat), it sounds pretty good for what it is. I've tried a couple 10' subs (alpine, mtx, kicker) and even though I didn't get the same hits as the kicker did in terms of feeling wise, the sound was still pretty good, just not wat i was looking for. But overall, a kicker will def outdo this sub, but its still a good buy for good consistent sound, smooth, and just right in a way. I just want more, like kicker competition or JL12 series type of bass. The box was mounted by a shop, so I can't give any input on how it was mounted. Def interested though on your review of the JL13w5. I've seen youtube vid's where the bass is clearly felt outside of the car.

After talkin to Wicked CAS they did say that it is phenominal how well this thing hits for being so shallow.
But that's coming from the person trying to sell me the shallow mount.
It seems I'll be the guinue (sp?) pig for us here on my350z as I haven't found anyone w/ this sub yet.

I have a 13w5 in my 350 but I had a box made in front of the strut tower. (not behind/under like the prefab Z boxes).
I have had many and many woofers/setups and for the amount of space this woofer takes the sound is fantastic. If you are looking to save space or a stealth install I wouldn't hesitate to get it. If you don't mind a couple of beast 10's sticking out into your hatch, that route will be louder/cleaner if done right.
(I had this installed behind the driver seat in the stock location first and it was terrible... not sure about in the glove box area)

Definitely, I mean its not going to flip a quarter on the roof like past installs but it holds its own. I listen to a mix of everything from Rap/Rock/Electronic/Reggae and the w5 can make it all sound good. (granted the box is built well of course, but its hard to mess up a sealed box)
But really if you are looking at a shallow mount woofer, you are obviously looking to save space or you would be looking at a 1K watt 10-12" and call it a day, correct? Well this is the best shallow mount on the market ATM. I do not see myself changing my current setup in this car, which is a first for me.

I see what ya did there

Yea you wire it just like any other woofer, you are just going to see a final 3ohm load instead of 2/4 like most other woofers. So make sure whatever amp you are using is ~600-700 at 3ohm. (most dont list 3ohm power but take the 2ohm and 4ohm rating and figure it out)
Mine was easy because I have it hooked up to a JL HD750/1, it does the same power at 1.5 ohms - 4 ohms. (not to mention it fits perfectly in the bucket thing in the glovebox ) There are definitely cheaper options out there though.

It's rated RMS Power (Bridged) @ 12.5v: 400W @ 4 Ohm
I'd guess that since our cars don't do 12.5v when turned on and this sub being 3ohms that my power RMS would be 575W to the sub....

Spoke w/ Nazar today about possibly getting a refund since I found a used box and used JL slim 13" sub that work great in my car. Yet I already ordered the new set already.
This guy is great to deal with. He has kept communication and is going to see if his shop began the sub box work. If not he'll give me my money back.
He was even glad that I'll at least have a wicked product instead of be mad that I want to cancel my order.
Easy company to deal with. Free bump for ya'll.
