Unhappy Problems posting in this forum?

Is it just me or are others having problems posting in this forum?

Every time i post it just gets rejected with an error. If i refresh it comes back to the thread and my post is there but my post count and the thread haven't been lifted.

That sux as i can't see which thread has new posts since they don't move.

I guess if it's just me i'll make a new account... Also i didn't want to appear rude... i posted a few times and then dissappeared thinking it didn't work at all.

No, not just you, the forums stuffed.

There's a thread near the top in the General forum. Basically the guy who owns the site appears to be the only one with admin access and can't be contacted or so the story goes.

If it keeps up much longer (it's already been about 2 weeks) I'm going to move to 350zfan.com

Do you think it's worth setting up our own 350z forum for australians?

I am very good friends with a director of ozforces ISP and we will get hosting for free. It's just a matter of someone being good at setting up the forum.

I know a guy who can do it but it would be best done by someone who's part of the community.

I could do it and host it but at this stage I don't see the point, there's not enough of us to warrant it IMO.

Having said that if there's sufficient interest I'll organise it but please be aware it won't be a priority and could take a while.

We haven't got one forum which is trying to push the Aussie market or agenda.

I see a real need for it.

If we have about 50 350z owners that would be plenty. It's all about presence

We could have Nissan Australia take note of specific problems we have for once. Wow wouldn't that be a change!

There's no Aussie market to push really. There's no specialist Z aftermarket dealers here although I seem to recall Nathan mentioned something a while back.

As for Nissan Aust listening to us if their dealers are anything to judge by they couldn't care less what we think.

Anyway who's interested in an AuZZie forum? Speak up, PM me if you don't want to say anything publicly, and we'll see if the numbers are here.

BTW if anyone else would like to create and host feel free to express those desires as I wouldn't mind if it were someone else.

Hey Matt, trust you are well?

I for one would be more than happy to have an Oz forum if for nothing else than communication between fellow Oz Z owners. Im not sure about Nissan listening to us, as they say though, stranger things have happened.

I do however, get great value out of reading what the yanks are up to as far as mods, etc go. This site is terribly frustrating though to say the least. As an interim solution (if they cant get this site fixed) perhaps we could all join another site? I personally dont give a bugger which one I get info from.

I dont know anything about setting up or running sites so im sorry I cant help with that.

H

I'm up for moving on, at least until they get things working again, if ever. The damage may be done as far as confidence in the forums and people I would imagine will have moved away, we're all so fickle

It doesn't necessarily have to be a web forum, there are plenty of alternative forum/messaging systems around, like Lycos, which is all e-mail based.

Jim

P.S. O/T I know but has anyone tried to pull out their oil dip stick yet?? Jeezarse! What a weird set up that is.

I complained to the administrator on Sunday night and was assured it would all be fixed within 2 days - but still not updating responses to threads and unable to do a poll....

350zfan.com looks interesting

Hi Harry, got your Z yet? Your accessory list appears to be growing

Sundog, re the dipstick yeah, I have. Not a problem getting it out but it was a WTF moment once I had it out and tried to put it back. Took a minute to figure out just the right twists and turns.

Let's give them to the end of the week to get this forum sorted. If not we can move to 350zfan in the interm while we setup our own.

Like Harry I enjoy seeing what others are doing and what's available in other markets so I don't think we should cut ourselves off completely.

Matt, according the dealer I will have it Friday or Monday. Depends on how long it takes to fix the bumper.

Guys, I may be the lone voice here, but I don't see the need to form our own forum. Judging from the number of respondents on this section of the forum, there are maybe a dozen regular contributors - insufficient numbers to set up our own site.

I must admit that I get pi**ed off at how long it can take to pull down a screen from this site (and I use cable!), but lets not forget, this site cost us nothing to join and it has provided us with valuable information pre and post delivery of our Z's. So let's give them a fair go at sorting out the current technical difficulties (its only been 1 week). If the problems can't be sorted by the end of the month, then I would have no problem shift_ing on mass to another site with everyone else.

Not a lone voice, said basically the same thing upfront

Seems to be a moot point as the site looks to be working again finally. We must have scared them into action with the threat of us few leaving

Yes, it is pleasing to see it all back to normal. They even managed to capture all the posting stats and stay current with read/unread markers. Nice catch moderators if you're watching.

I was only kidding about moving on, really and truly....:]
