Waiting period??
Hi guys, I'm new here, 350Z rocks!!! , hehehehe
Ok, I'm interested on purchasing a Z, so how long is the waiting period for the car?? I'm interested with a Super black Track on black leather. Does Australian Z has a HID as an option??

Hello and Welcome!
The waiting time is about three months, unless you can get someone with floor stock to sell? I ordered mine in March and pick it up on Monday.
As far as I know, and I think its a 100%, there is no HID option for OZ spec Z's.

Hey there r3z4, im looking to buy a Z too.....just waiting on selling my car. Ive been keeping watch of the stock at dealers across Oz and know that there r quite a few new Zs out there already delivered. Also u can get a great deal these days, bargain with the dealers, they have been slowly reducing the prices on their cars to shift them off the floor. U can buy a new track for 65K on road these days if u visit a desperate dealer.
Ray that price on the Philips xenons is quite reasonable. I was quoted $2200 from japanparts.com for 2 new OEM headlights. I remember reading somewhere tho that the Halogen headlight has a different reflector than the Xenon headlight, and this would cause our light to disperse in the wrong direction with a xenon globe behind it. Have u done ne of ur own research on this???

Sam:
Regarding to the HID head light replacement from Japan spec Z, are they just direct plug in replacement? or we will need to change some electrical circuits to suit them?
I am not going to use the after market HID because those *MIGHT* possibly melt down the plastic cover of our Zs if the HID housing isn't supposed to hold the heat... I used them on the M3 because m3 has the glass casing instead of the plastic ones... we really need to beware of this before anyone goes ahead with the after market HIDs.... just my suggestions...
cheers,
richie

Richie the OEM HIDs replace the entire halogen headlight. All ballasts and wiring are included on the actual headlight, so its basically plug and play.....take out the halogens, fit the HIDs.
I know what u mean about the high temp xenon bulbs melting the headlight. My mate fitted PIAA globes on his 147 and they burned inside the headlight since they run at 7100K. But on the Z i doubt temp would matter, since the globe sits behind that grey thing......unless that clear end piece is plastic on Halogens and glass on HIDs, but i doubt it. I have my mates set of PIAA H7 Plasma Blue globes. They'll do for nite time muzza attention
I think there r better places to invest 2200 bucks.....audio baby

But HID will give u that special look .
On a C class they use plastic casing and someone i know change it to xenon, the plastic casing still good as new.
I'm more concern about the beam pattern of the HID, as the original headlight is maximise for halogen lights.
