Unhappy Are your brakes still squealing?

Hi guys, my brakes are still squealing after a month.

I was wondering if this a Track/Brembo thing only, or do the Touring brakes also squeal?

One of the reps at my dealership advised me to go to Carlovers and blast my brakes. Not keen on this idea.

Yep, I'm up to about the 2.5 months mark. Certainly squeal a lot less often now and generally not as loud but it's still there.

I'm not too worried about it at this stage. If it's still there after I change pads I'll start to look at it more.

I've got a DB Track with over 10,000k's and I can honestly say I've only heard the Brembo's squeal a couple of times. The only thing I can think of is I wash the wheels and the Brembo brakes, what I mean is after washing the rims inside and out I rinse with the water hose I place the water jet close to the pads (between the disk and the pads) and hose out as much of the brake dust as possible (I get quite a lot of black dust rinse out), the car get washed one a week and I have the forged rays. I hope this helps.

FWIW I should add I really only get it after repeated low speed light stops such as when crawling in traffic. There is the occasional exception but it's rare.

My brakes didn't squeal at all with the stock pads. At 13K I changed pads to Porterfield 4RS pads. I now hear an occasional light squeal when I am crawling in traffic and applying the brakes lightly. No noise at any other time. They feel more solid with SS lines, changing the pads, and switching to ATE Blue (synthetic). I also was fairly rigid about seating the pads.

There is an aluminum spacer which fits behind the rear pads...none on the front pads. I wish that I had more thorougly cleaned out the old brake dust. Everything had a coating of brake dust.

I have to agree on that one.... but I haven't had any brake sqeaking problem anymore after 4K km... and it just passed 6k km yesterday!

I've been thinking about this the last few days as my brakes seem to have finally stopped squealing. Even crawling in traffic they're now silent. The only thing I can think of is the track day but as I went through my bed in procedure twice I doubt that's it.

Just thought I'd mention it.

Mine is still oing it and I'm 5500kms.

I must say that it is less noticeable now so hopefully soon it will be a thing of the past.

It's no big deal, but it doesn't seem right for a $70k car pulling up at the lights with squealing brakes.

I know it will have something to do with the colour of my car, but, I have never heard a "squeak" out of the brakes.

As always
