Recommend service in Sydney?
Hi all,
I'm not happy with the progress of the feel of my clutch. I know people have been saying it gets better over time but I believe mine has gotten slightly worse or at best remained the same. Therefore I've decided to try adjusting the pedal and see if that helps.
Normally it's something I'd do myself but I just looked under there and there's a heap of stuff in the way. I'm not the smallest bloke as a lot of you know and my regular mechanic is no spring chicken so thought I'd take the easy route get someone else to do it.
So can someone recommend a Nissan service place in Sydney that they could trust? Nathan, if your workshop would like the work it's yours but it's a small bastard of a job from the looks of it (although I wouldn't mind getting your opinion on how it feels).

I'd be inclined to take it to Nathan's shop in East Sydney.
They race the car and would have done all the small kind of mods you are either thinking of or plan to do now.
I mean who else in Sydney has done 2 engine rebuilds on the 350z already? It just comes down to what the hell do you do at Rushcutters Bay once you drop the car off?

I posted something a while ago on where the clutch engages.
It almost feels like the pick up point varies. Is this possible?
Perhaps the drive by wire throttle being very sensitive has something to do with it.
Not that this will help find a good service centre. (IMHO you need to watch over them to get a job well done)

Thanks guys
I would take it to Nathan but it's one of those tiny PITA jobs where I feel like I'm imposing. Don't have to worry about that with a dealer. Hornsby was my first thought as well as they're near by although their sales staff really put me off.
Blue, I agree. It does sometimes feel as though the engagement is different. Ocassionally it's perfect but most of the time it's less so to varying degrees. I just know that if I book it in to a dealer it'll behave perfectly that day.

You're right. The sales staff are the pits!!!!!! Especially old Bill. I have bought two cars in a month (350Z & X-Trail) and the sales guys are like stereotypes of car salesman but the guys in service are great.....even SMS me to remind me of my service date.

Sorry for the slow response but we just got back from Phillip Island.
It would be a pleasure to have a look & give an opinion.
Your probably aware that the flywheel is a spring loaded 2 peice unit, this may be the problem.
The flywheel is made in England for Nissan by LUK.
Ring dad on 93286588 & he would love to help

That's OK. I presume that's your dads account? What happened in race 1? I've only seen the results and it seems you must have had an incident in the first race and then had to play catch up?
As for the clutch it could just be me. I've had a really heavy duty clutch and ultra light flywheel for the past 8 years and so all stock clutches feel funny to me now.
I'll give you a call in the next few days. Thanks.
