I'm pretty sure we are way past 5 harryw...

I was the 4th to put in for the group buy and there has been a huge amount of interest. I mentioned to zzz-35 that if we went to around 10 would there be a level2 price.... see what he comes back with.

But yeh, like you i just want the exhaust on asap !

All those who want to be in the buy please pm me now, zuffy is driving me nuts, he can't wait any longer and the more buyers I can get the more I can twist Lambros arm for more savings. I would like to close this of by the end of this week, anyway the less cars fitted with the system the better that make mine one of the faster cars including red ones.

David, is it much louder than stock? I want one but am concerned that it may be too loud for me. Is it noisier than stock and if so, when?

Malcolm

In general its marginally louder say 20%, for normal driving and on freeways its just noticeable. On WOT it's 100% louder but still within EPA requirements, but it definitely does not sound like your normal riceburner.

I didn't notice anything at idle, it's just when the car is WOT thenis really sounds amazing (and loud).

At idle it's just a deeper stock sound... well with a bit of a rumble to it.

If you are worried about waking the neighbours then this isn't a problem. Not unless you rev to 5000rpm down the road every day..

I'm assuming David's car is the same as nismor's car...

BTW Nathans 350 with the resonator removed sounded great too... you definitly know he coming down the road. Very nice sound but the neighbours might get the *****.

Hello David and Zuffy

Thanks for your replies. About what I expected I suppose. Probably not for me.

I guess that to get the power gains, there has to be a more free flowing exhaust and that will mean less muffling and more noise, which will be fibe for some people and even preferable, but I'm a bit "conservative" and prefer a quieter sound. It's just about right for me the way it is. A pity to forgo the extra power though.

I'm now going to get one of the US ECU upgrades and a plenum upgrade, both of which seem to be on the money for a performance improvement.

yeh... both those are on the list of mods.

I'm just waiting for the new plenum to get flow tested and for some independant dynos on the smt6 that Jason is marketing.

Best you listen to the exhaust live to see if you like or dislike it. Just ask someone whenever you pop into Syd or Mlb, I know i'd be happy to show off my car.

Here's my dyno that I did at Croydon today.

The first 3 runs were in 4th gear so we ran it twice in 5th gear which is 1:1.

LOL, should have seen my jaw drop when he first ran it. Well it's pretty good imho at 150rwkw baseline.

Now for the Hi-tech install.

edit: bloody images won't load

Thats better !!!

The 160rwkw was in 4th gear...the proper 5th gear is the lower of the 2. Just so you don't wonder wtf is going on.

btw...check out the AF at high revs.... might be some gains out of a piggyback for me there.

That's a good baseline. There is one strange thing though. You're hitting your peak at ~185kph whereas I'm hitting mine at ~205kph.

AFR is interesting as well.

How many km do you have up now? The fact you did 5 pulls may have thrown the results out a bit. You may have noticed that power increases with each run as the ECU adjusts.

I'm up to 7500km on the clock...

Actualy the dyno fell to 149.9kw on the 5th run... the run above was the first in 5th gear and was the best.

Too bad the first 3 were wasted on 4th gear :P

You had to be there when he ran it in 4th though...my eyes bulged when 160kw was up on the screen... lol...HE only asked what gear to use after we printed the results.

So your output is very similar to Apps baseline, but why are you hitting peak power at 185km/h as opposed to Apps 205km/h??? That's a big discrepancy. Also, today was fairly cold and the day Apps dynoed his may have been a little colder, but surely that would not explain the difference????
