Default Nismo 350Z = 320hp (ie. 240kW)

Here's a little news-clip about the Nosmo 350Z. They are getting 240kW out of the car without a Turbo or Sipercharger. Though, if the exhaust accounts for 15 - 20kW out of that (ie. as per hitech dynos), then he CAI, headers and cams are worth 'only' 20 - 25kW.

"Designed as the ultimate showcase of what a Nismo-equipped Nissan can do, this heavily modified 350Z is more than just fancy wheels and a body kit. Its 3.5-liter V6 was upgraded with new camshafts, a cold-air intake, headers and a stainless steel cat-back exhaust that adds up to a healthy 320 horsepower. The stock six-speed transmission was enhanced with a single-disc clutch, a lightweight flywheel and a Nismo shift **** for a more precise feel through the gears. Additional hardware upgrades include an adjustable limited-slip differential, high-performance brake pads and a steering fluid cooler. For enhanced looks, there's a full body kit with front and rear spoilers, light alloy 18-inch wheels and official Nismo graphics."

I don't think nismo exhaust will be able to give as much as what Hi-tech can give though, else I would have imported one in myself already. According to people in the state, it only gives 6 to 7 rear wheel HP which is aroung 5 to 6 rwKW....

but I guess the cams, header and light weight flywheel and the clutch will make the differences... and most likely a computer which might give another healthy 10HP or more at the wheels... 320HP (236kw) isn't that hard I guess, but you need to throw in quite a lot of money to get there...

and if everything goes well (including Hi-tech exhaust and my business), this might be the option that I will take....

cheers,

Is this at the fly or wheels. As you mentioned the 15 - 20 Kw for the exhaust is correct but keep in mind these figures were at the wheels as per mine, aps and zuffs figures.

So if it was 320 HP at the wheels that is pretty good for a NA.

That would mean if drivetrain loss is consistent at 26% it would equate to approx. 435 HP/325Kw at the fly.

325 Kw at the fly Umm.. I wish. So 320 HP is probaly measured at the fly. (even though the only way to do this is to remove the motor).

Any more details ie: What camshafts were used.

I think they are talking about 320HP at the engine.... and I think I have read this somewhere as well.... it is using a R-tune engine which also includes 6 individual throttles with trumpts on them... so the engine does not run any filter that way!

cheers,
