Default Screw 'Em

fark fark farkin' FAAAAAAAARK!!!!!

Ok, first time was a **** off. Now, I would like to take any loose screw found on the road and drill it into the unmentionables of the person who left it there. (I'm not usually a violent person but FAAAAARK - TWICE????!!!!!)

I got a screw through the sidewall for the SECOND TIME! Not repairable. All the extra life I've been gettin' out of the tyres is bein' used up by some frickin' dumba$$ who can't keep his screws to himself!!!

Anyway, when I went to order a replacement tyre, I was told there were only 2 in all of Oz........ Now there's one.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

LK, you carnt say FARK!! you'll get in trouble.

I feel your pain champ.

When I got my last new car (Clubsport) the same thing happened to me. One was a complete blow out on the Expressway at 2am!

I was saying FARK many times as well.

As always

And if yer pharkin' spare don't fit - . . . . . .

Did you ever resolve that matter, H?

I've taken mine out and fitted a mat to the hole and just carry a fineleak or will ring the NRMNA.

I knew exactly how you feel lionking
I remember when I had my 993 with 18", I blow the first back tire within weeks of taking delivery, just becoz I ran into a not-so-big pothole, and the tire cost me ~$900 (265/35/18 S01, back then it was a very expensive and rare tire).
and within another few weeks, I had a puncture with a really big bolt (not screw) and the damage is not repairable, and not recommanded for that size of tire, so I hv to replace the tire again!!
and while I started to drive more carefully happily without damaging anymore tires for about a month or two, then one day when I was going into a carpark, the entrance/driveway of the carpark wasnt very smooth, it has a dip where the kerb was, I was just driving a little faster than walking pace when entering, and as soon as hit the dip I heard a pop sound..... there goes another tire!!!! I said to myself "fark!! not again!!!"
so in about 3 months time I spent ~$2500 on new tires alone

SHIZZLE,

There was something about a lug on the hub? Never really had another look.

I'll just ring the Nissan roadside assistance people (NRMA).

Holy Friggin Bad Luck Batman!!! I was very fortnate (in a relative sense) that the price was nearly $600 just before the first puncture and had been lowered the week before to $295. Still would have rather blown the $600 on some other indulgence.

And I can say H and Frosty that I was very glad to have the spare both times. Was in a bit of a hurry and would have been very inconvienient to wait for someone to fix the tyre. Have had about 5 or 6 days now on the spare and it's not bad (although ugly as hell) - just have to remember not to take the on-ramp at race pace.

Yeah sux big time. Last time it happened to me was when I had a company vehicle. I was peeved at the inconvenience of having to get another tyre. Having to fork out hundreds because some dimwit can't keep his screws in his truck is a pain in the backside.
BTW LK, what brand of tyre are you running?

Hang on, you're running stock 17" rims and tyres and you were told there were only two tyres left in the whole country???? Who did you see about the tyre? I called Bridgestone and they were shipping dozens of 40's in per month last year for each state. What changed?

That's what I was told by the tyre dealer. I was told a similar story by a different Bridgestone dealer (only 8 tyres in Victoria) last puncture a few months ago. Apparently this tyre in this size was only used on the 350z. Was a new production item or something like that? I'm just repeating what was told to me...

Mines a Touring also, so I'd hate to get a puncture and have to travel on the spare for an extended period of time. When the tyre eventually wear, I will look at other brands (possibly Kuhmo's on Nathan's recomendation). But I'v noticed that there are very few 225/ 245 50 profile 17" tyres made by the tyre vendors. So I think that eventually I will have to get new wheels which i don't want to do or but 45 profile tyres and have an inaccurate speedo reading, which does not impress me as I want to know what speed I am doing when passing a cop.
