Default Rogue Shortshifter

Noticed a few complimentary reviews re this - and given Harry's not so good experience with shortshifters - wondering if anyone has experience with this (or other brands).
Seems like a nice little mod with useful attributes.

SHIZZLE, I can recall seeing somewhere that they had problems with them snapping.

Could be mistaken though?

Default Not Snapping

The shifter is 2 parts joined by a rubber connector to prevent vibration in the handle. The problems people had was that the handle section popped off the rubber section. (essentially breaking the shift rod in two pieces.

I think some members just glued it back together.

I would imagine rogue is working on an improved design.

Zuffy, the only "fix" is for me to go and buy another control socket and try to make up the same thing that was offered by the manufacturer of the product. For those who dont know, my understanding was the fix was a couple of O rings recessed into the control socket.

I have already tried to do this once and as I have said elsewhere my Dremel skills just arent up to it and I dont like wasting $30 a pop on a new socket.

Other than putting up with the noise there is not a great deal else I can do. It would be really good if just one of the three control sockets I have been sent would show up, but, Ive said all Im going to say about that!

The design has been improved and now they have a bolt running through the two sections that were breaking apart. The problem should not happen anymore as even if the glue were to give the pieces would still be bolted together. I just got one, can't wait to put it in. Ben, One of the cofounders of the company, is really nice and assured me the bolt would prevent any further problems.

I check the EVO website and it states the throw is only improved by 20%!?!

Thats nothing... dweebs SS went from 4.5" to 2.7"...now thats short shifting. Too bad it has all those problems associated.

Zuffy, the "dweeb" shifter has only had problems with the noise it makes. If you can handle the rattle it is a great shifter! Dont be put off by me because I am the wrong person to talk to about noises as they really annoy the ***** out of me.

The shifter itself is great. The throws are very tight, precise and very short.

With that being said though I think dweeb has done a runner? His web site is "under construction" and he hasnt returned my many emails.

yeh!

He milked it for all he could and did the bolt...that would explain the runaround you got.
