Don't read to much into this but here's a few quick questions for you.
How many of you would be seriously interested in having their ECU remapped if:
1. it cost around $500
2. it cost around $1000
3. it cost around $1500
3. a gain was guaranteed
4. your ECU had to be sent to Sydney (people in Sydney could drive to the shop)
5. custom mapping could be an option
The prices are a very rough guess and the expected gain is totally unknown at this stage. I know someone that is considering making the hardware/software investment to handle the 350Z ECU (they already do others and aftermarket ECU tuning) but they're uncertain if a market exists for the Zed.
What do you think? Is there a viable market?

Does it increase the RPM limit?
This is an important question, because our stock ECU can 'learn' about our mods and adjust itself to a certain extent(you know all this) so its not as necessary with our car as it is with other cars. As a result an ECU mod would be almost last on my list. And if it cant increase the RPM limit then it doesnt even fall on my list at all.
Also,
Will this be a new creation or would they be selling someone elses tried and tested creation? i.e. Technosquare reseller.

Yes they'd be able to alter the rpm limit.
I believe they'd be using Techtoms hardware the same as Technosquare (it's the only thing available) but the maps would be their own.
I believe they're also considering packages (ie stage 1 = exhaust and new ECUmap stage 2 = cams and new ECU map etc)

What i'd be prepared to pay would depend on the results obtained.
I've had chips and piggybacks on lots of cars, but my sum-up is generally disappointing and it seems that gains in one area was at the expense of something else.
Yes - i would consider.

Id be interested. The price I would pay be would depend on the outcome.
It would be to have been seriously tested and proven by independent dyno. I have be seriously bitten before with a fuel injection system I put on one of my bikes once and I wont be a guinea pig again.
As always

I will consider as well... because I was actually looking into Nismo ECM already (Sport Resetting) until S1 concept engine was released...
But I would be very interested in seeing what the ECU can be tuned up to and how advance it can bring our car to live again... wouldn't mind to pay 1000 to 1500 as you need to pay roughly around that price already for the piggy back ECU.
cheers,
richie

Regarding powerchip:
I wasnt going to buy from them anyway but yep i've been getting REALLY CRAP response from them with huge delays etc etc.
I would NOT recommend dealing with these people, they are not worth the time of day + half are rude + half have no idea what they are talking about. All this from my limited experience with them.

Yep I'd be interested up to $1500 as that was the cost of the Qld piggyback unit including a dyno tune plus you'd get the rev limlt raised.

I'd limit the investment to 1 grand, and that would be a custom job (I pay for dyno rental).
I'm 90% sold of the vortech but if this guy is serious then it may be worth doing a custom install without the splitsec box.

I'll be very interested as long as it raise the rev limit.
as far as power gain is concern, I think I already hv enough under my right foot, any more is bonus. now I want my zed to handle and make use of all that power, bilstein PSS9 in on my wish list, but hv no idea when it will come out, if I cant wait then tein flex will be next in line

I don't think I should say who it is at the moment. What I will say is it's not me nor do I have any financial interest. They approached me through a contact asking if I thought there was a market. They really sound like they're on the fence as to making the investment.

Hey count me in if the specs sound ok.
I realise its all an experiment for now but thats the only way to get somewhere.
A decent gain for the cash is what will make or break this idea.

I'll have more info soonish.
The workshop is ProConcept. They prep Mike Fitzgeralds 200SX for GTP and will be doing a couple of 350Zs this year.
