I do miss the raw edge of the s2000, I have a friend who has one and I throw it around once in a while but I don't regret my change, I needed something more practical.

Hi Sev,
I'm pretty happy with the 350Z now that I got more power (in particualar at the top end of the rev-range). Though, I do want to improve the 'balance' of the car so I'm going to do (roughly) this:
http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/pr.../0404scc_350z/
Though, I'm not touching the the diff.
ps. Have you had the 350Z at a 1/4mile strip yet? Just wondering how you went?
Note for others: Sev was one of the 1st people to clock 13.8 1/4mile time from a stock S2000 and have the time slip to prove it.

ET was slow but MPH was high, I had no idea how to launch the car, was just doing clutch drops at around 3k...
I am confident the car can do a 13.7 in stock form, even a 13.6 possibly. I will go back this year, I have a better feel for the car now.

Those are good times.

Have you got a better idea of how to launch the car? Or are you just implying something like needing to feather the throttle?

1. You must do a burnout. Don't kill the tires but a 5 second burnout to heat them up.
2. You must be reving between 2-3k and slip the clutch at around 2.5k. This depends on things such as temperature traction...
We will see how it goes, I am going to make a trip down soon.

Cool Sev, keep us posted as I'm interested to see what you come back with.

Yeah, I've noticed that, it certainly makes a difference as the 350Z does not have enough rubber at the back to get the 'desired' traction.
