Default INSTALLED: Hi-Tech exhaust, Crawford cats, Kinetix plenum, JWT popcharget and Eibach

Whatsup All,
So i finally got my license back today and had all my mods installed on wednesday ready for me to go today.

Firstly, as i had all of these mods installed at the same time i cannot say the performance gained by each mod only the entire package. To start with the sound. This car sounds mean!!! I cannot believe i did not do all these mods earlier. The Exchaust and cats give the car a MUCH throatier sound which sounds unbelievable at higher RPM's. The plastic plenum produces a weird sound which is almost like a motorbike but deeper and obviously softer, great to. As you get closer to the higher revs the popcharger comes in and starts growling so the car sounds unbelievable, even the sound alone is worth the money.

Permormance wise, there is DEFINATELY a MUCH stronger pull through out the entire rev range. The car is significantly quicker at all stages which is definately noticeable in the rear wheels, went completely sidways today when i when around a slide bend and floored it with TCS off. From all these mods i am hoping to get 25kw-30kw but have absolutely no idea how much i gained.
The springs are great to. Perfect amount of drop and a much softer ride which was the first thing i noticed. To be honest i cannot see why anyone would replace the shocks other than if they are doing some SERIOUS racing

Anyways, all in all i cannot be happier, and cannot wait to get back into my car tonight, lets just hope the kinetix plenum does not crack!!!

Great to hear your happy with all the mods.
Was the Kinetix plenum difficult to install?
Are you planning a dyno at all just to see what is at the rear wheels? maybe?

I'm not sure if we are talking about the same thing, but the Hi-Tech exhaust sounds a bit like a motorbike exhaust. Reminds me of something like a Fireblade900 (or other big bikes like that). I've heard few people make comments like that so I'm not sure if the sound you are describing is the plenum, the exhaust, or just the combination of the whole lot.

The exhaust note is throatier. the sound of the plenum is very different and is the sound of the air passing through the PLASTIC plenum. i would imagin that this sound would be different with the crawford plenum. when you press down on the plenum the sound pretty much dissapears.

also, plenum install's easy. heard one or two guys had issues with misalignment, but for the most part, no prob. easy mod.

I've just done the same mods apart from the Eibach, but have also added the UR crank pulley as well. My Z absolutely flies now. "Meaningful" is how I can now best describe the sound and performance. The difference to a stock car is very significant.

I did the mods one by one, and each one seamed to add just that bit more. Final mod to go now is the ECU upgrade. TS advise me that there is now an Australian company company who are able to apply their software.

I'm not going to bother to dyno. Switch off the traction control and the wheel spin confirms that the power is well up. It's just so much more fun to drive now.

I also hope the plenum holds up, but am not too confident as some V3's have already experienced cracking. I'm sure the problem will be fixed and if it needs replacing fitting only took me an hour.

My previous car was a modded S15 200SX and the Z was a little disappointing in comparison when I got it, but no longer.

I've also knocked about 50kg in weight off the car which all helps.

really the ecu from an australian company sounds a little "dodgy" to me, no one here down under seems to know anything about the z. you say you did it 1 by 1, what was the UR pulley like. to be honest my best mate has an sti and every time i go in it and feel the boost, all iwant is a sti.

BUT then i get out and see the disgustingly ugly gold wheels and the spoiler whic is bigger than me. there is only 1 word to describe it, classless. the ugliest car, just wish ours went as hard as it.BUT, then i guess we would be paying $200 000 for a porshe turbo!!!!!!!!!!!

Im thinking of changing out the springs, what are the details on the Eibachs. Cost, etc? Please.

On a side note, had mine in for the 20k service yesterday and the dealer tells me Nissan now supplies the full Nismo body kit as well as some different suspension parts from Billstein.

Also told me my tyres are just about Kangaroo Edward, not from feathering though.

As always

Mate I have been out testing the TT Z car all weekend and it's an awesome drive, I just love the grunt from right down low all the way through to REDLINE.

Now all you need to do is when Tattslotto or sell some of the wifes jewels and get your priorities in order.

I can't say sure for sure though I would estimate a mid 4 second time would be about the right number, feels fairly similar to my TT porsche, I guess it depends on how hard you're prepared to be on the car and drivetrain.
