If your talking about the Unichip cost, installed including dyno tuning is ~$1250 or very close to that.

I dont think we were really trying to figure that out as much as figure out what a stock Zed puts out. But for reference you should get around a 15rwkw gain.

NAH! The cost of the T/T system $.......?

What about my gearbox - the demmo car's box has probably been upgraded - that's about $4-$5 grand done properly.

Can we risk the standard box?

Remember, its only Peugeot stuff now - not the bulletproof gtr stuff.

I'd want to see what happens to the early purchasers before I commit myself.

And what warranty on the T/T system - bet it 'aint 3-year 100,000k like on oem!

Not too excited yet but the car a/c is ready to go!

But i'm sick of being a pioneer!

It will cost more here than in the US because of our smaller market. Its around $12,000 and thats not installed or engineered.

They havnt upgraded the gearbox.

You can risk it if you want.

Its a 1yr warranty, if I remember correctly, and it only covers the APS parts nothing to do with your car like blown engine, blown gear box, tree through passanger door etc

Look and see what happens to any of the turbo guys from the US or Japan.

I know what you mean about a pioneer, but for a car that looks like ours I think we made the first choice right. The number of people who look at and mention my car is crazy, you'd think it was a Ferrari.

HTF can a set of headers, exhaust, turbo and install come to that sort of number?

The mechanics are all worked out ex USA - it sure isn't that big a job lhd-rhd headers?

You can take an Rx8 drive in-drive out turbo conversion for HALF that.

Like 12000!! You can buy a whole car for near that!

Shizzle, you're a ****!

I'm not interested in spending at least $12 - $15k on a TT setup. I'll look at the Unichip when it gets sorted. I too have been a pioneer too many times (with bikes) to get caught up again.

You learn valuable lessons when you put a "fully sorted" fuel injection system onto a sports bike only to find out you are literally the R&D rider for the gooses putting it together.

Im in no way having a shot at APS (Peter) as from what I know of his company they are very professional, Ive just done it too many times. Besides the $12 - $15k can go towards the next car that comes standard with certain things that would make it perform a little better (Skyline???)

As always

Talking about the bolt-on pioneer..... I tried it once as well...... Downing Atlanta Supercharge "system" (imported from the States and it had been fully tested) for the bmw 318is... boosting at 7.5psi (exactly half a bar) for 10K installed + unichip tuned up... the end result?! Gearbox + fuel cut problem + air cond problem and ended up putting all the things back to standard and sold the bloody car (as the US company cannot really help us up here) and eventually got myself a M3 instead which I enjoyed very much more than the s'charged 318is... in terms of reliability problem!

Am not trying to promote APS here, but it will be a lot safer to go for Australain made/design products, especially it involves some serious engine tunings here... You will always have someone here to back you up or to serve you well! Immediate help is availble, that's you are paying for!

cheers,

richie

I asked Peter about the drive train on the TT and had it been upgraded, he said it was stock which was really surprising. I thought you'd have to strengthen it all when you go from @150 to 290kw.

The 350Z stock gear box is already a heavy duty one comparing to the Stock GT-R and others.

i guess therefore it's capable to handle the TT or S/C.

The TT (500hp+)that Nispro developed here in Melbourne, the owner was an automotive transmission engineer and he stated the reason he picked the 350Z was because of the stenght of the driveline, this was reported in an article I've read, I think the Zoom mag.

All the gear problem have been syncromesh related, no broken shafts as yet?

I agree with Frosty - have been reading the posts with interest but want to see how reliable it is over a longer period, how gearboxes etc hold up and how much APS back up their setup (and not just individual components).

Note: My friends 500hp GTR had stock Gearbox and Clutch. And he would frequently launch from 6000rpm. Thats not to say it wouldnt have exploded given a bit more time.

And this was before the crash which totaled it.

Mate I assume you are asking about the Right Hand drive spec APS TT system which will include the factory cats and the APS cat back system, if so the target turbo pressure is between 7 to 8 PSI.

Mate I can only assume you are talking about the APS TT Z car................if that's correct the engine and drive train is 100% factory stock.
