Didn't know about the room with a lift. Just a regular room. Looks like a great place.

Still looking for a trailer. I will have one before the Glen though.

After chatting with Aryan today, all signs are pointing to "yes" for me being at the Glen.

No trailer yet, going into major hunt mode this week. Really want an enclosed unit, but don't want to blow the whole wad for it. Unfortunetly that cuts some nice units out of the picture. Looking at Haulmark, Wells Cargo, Pace American.... any other suggestions are welcome.

Hey guys: if you haven't signed up for Car Guys yet, you may want to consider this one, a week later: Delaware Valley BMWCCA. They'll have three days for $100 less than Car Guys' two-day session.

I haven't signed up yet, but it works better with my schedule.

James, 5 of us have signed up & made hotel reservations, so why don't you join us?

I've got new shoes, better brakes, should have a 3.9 w/Nismo LSD, and a JWT flywheel in by the event!

Oh yah, I should have one of the 3 Unitech/Truechoice CO's installed for this event also......

1) I'll get more track time for less money with the BMWs.

2) It fits my schedule better.

3) You won't be there with all your fancy mods, making me look bad in my bone stock Track model.

That's why!

The only downside to my group is that we won't have access to the garages: there's an event after ours that is setting up in them while we're there.

If you haven't already arranged to rent a garage, I recommend it. John and I got one when we ran with Car Guys in 2003, and it was very convenient. Two or even three cars can share one spot fairly easily.

Have a good time!

James, sorry you can't join us. Thanks for the suggestion on a garage.....I didn't see anything about renting one on the CarGuys site. I'll give them a call soon.

I need to speak to Aryan tomorrow, so I'll be sure to inquire about the garages.

I got my event packet today! So did BF Jack. I guess we all should figure out if we NEED a garage........ Redfoot should have his mobile oasis, so I'm not sure one will be needed......

Got my LSD & 3.9 in today! Nismo clutch disk is back ordered. And the suspension won't arrive in time to properly install.

BUT....I'm ready!

The garages are nice... my car will be as-is that weekend... as much as I'd love a new diff, it isn't needed as much at the Glen since everything is a high-speed corner. I may have a set of SGS slicks at Watkins since I'll be picking up a set on Saturday at VIR this weekend (since my RA1s are going to cord soon)...

Good to hear you finally got the 3.9, you'll love it! Got my car guys pak Wednesday, picked up my trailer yesterday and had a bit of trouble finding a pair of 245/40 18 Toyo RA1s for the front. Finally found some out in AZ, I hope they get here in time, or I will have to just get some Hoosiers all the way around. Car fits in the trailer great but the damn fenders are to high to open the door enough to get out. Now I need a removable steering wheel so I can shimmy out the window.

I'm headed up on monday and tuesday with ny-bmwcca. About 150 bucks cheaper than carguys. It's a goodtime but theyre pretty strict compared to other groups like PDA and SCDA.

Geez you'd think we all ****ed up on this one. Spent too much$ and screwed ourselves out of an extra day. Perhaps those that choose to go with a different group and date should post their observations/thoughts in a separate post. You can bet your a5s that the "BCR Harness Bar Right Coast Tour"! and all who join in will have a superb time a the track.

Found hot lap description of Watkins Glen.

http://www.na-motorsports.com/Tracks...en.html#HotLap

I've been reviewing video footage to try and get a jump on the track. Fast and unforgiving. Sounds like fun.

Great find Geoff! Driving now will be a LOT different than when I drove it before with my 80 hp GP Triumph Spitfire!

This will be my third trip up to Watkins and that write up in phenomenol. The gearing he described exactly lined up to my experience in the Z. Nice find!

John, excuse my ignorance, but what are SGS slicks?

Also, are you instructing?

Until the Speed coverage of the Grand Am Cup tomorrow, are there any links to in car videos at the Glen?

And, yes, the "BCR Harness Bar Right Coast Tour" WILL be a great time!

I thought I was going to be picking up a set of used slicks from the SGS class, but that didn't happen. Oh well...

At the moment, yes, I'm planing on instructing. Still waiting for my official packet though.

I have plenty of things to get done before the Glen... replace broken stud, get a fresh set of RA1s, fix other minor stuff... I need an extra week.

How much is the Glen Motor Inn? I was hoping my friend was going to be coming up to instruct, but he backed out. So if anybody wants to split the cost, let me know. Otherwise I'll just find something on my own...
