Default Honsowetz GT-3 350Z For Sale

I happened to notice a classified ad for Frank's car at CalClub.com, so I thought I'd pass the info along to the Z racing community. I realize that there is a classified section to this site, but I thought that a race car like this would be better placed here. If it's inappropriate, I apologize in advance.

GT-3 Nissan 350Z National and Nasport competitive. Great race record. All carbon fiber body. 2 KA24 engines with EFI, one new never started, one with one race. G-Force gearbox, fully lightened with mag case. SupMax diff with DPI Gold Trac. Multi gear sets. Gearbox and diff coolers. Penske 3 way adjustable shocks. Cockpit adjustable rear sway bar. 4 sets Panasport wheels. Tons of spares. Radio system and coolsuit system. $48,000. Contact: Frank Honsowetz @ (818) 903-5425 or frank@edpink.com

Frank was the former head of Nissan Motorsports and knows his stuff. His GT3 cars have been first rate and while the price may seem high, a custom built car like this is rare.

Price doesn't seem hight to me at all. Did you notice "carbon body" and all the other custom things? I'd say it's suspiciously low price.

Vlad- Remember that this is a tubeframe SCCA racecar. Nothing for street use at all. The market for racecars is notoriously fickle and you never get out anywhere near what you put in. To my knowledge, Frank's car is still for sale and despite being a 'bargain' I'd guess it'll take most of the summer to sell!

Hope you're just messin' with us on that comment. I'd guess that to duplicate what Frank is selling would be in the $85-100K area. Particularly if you purchase the parts at retail and have to pay for design and fabrication costs. It's a very special Z and if this is the form of racing you enjoy, Frank's car would be a very good value indeed.

Don't ask how I know all this...

no, i wasnt messing with u guys.
though after i reread the decription, it says there's "2" KA24 engines with EFI, one new never started, one with one race. the price sounds right with me
edit, this car sure is a sweet race car.
do you have any idea if he's willing to ship the car?
and more spec on the car? perhaps complete modification list?from body panel to chassi to wheels(basically everything)?
i'm currently planning to build a race car too, so this might be a fast way if it suits my needs.

Again, keep in mind that SCCA GT rules allow extensive engine mods to the KA24, so Carillo rods, reworked heads, titanium retainers, etc. are probably part of the package.

Why not e-mail Frank for more details? His address is listed in the initial post...

If you are looking to race in GT3 with a purpose-built 350Z, this is definitely the fast way to go!
