Is anybody going to the track event at Buttonwillow with N.A.S.A. Pro Racing on June 11th & 12th? I just pre-registered and booked my hotel so I am curious to see if any other 350Zs are going to be there.
I might make it up to Buttonwillow for that event, but it's unlikely I'll run the Z. I'll probably be checking out the Saturday evening enduro, although I'd prefer to find a ride in a car that's running the race!
I believe that a few of the SoCal Z folks will be attending the Buttonwillow Performance Driving Clinics on June 19 and July 16. There is a thread specifically about the July event - https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....0&page=1&pp=20. Come join us!

Hmmm. Clinics are always a good idea, no matter what your skill level. I just may go. The only think keeping me back is that price tag for one day!
How do these work? Is it instruction only is there an open track option?

I may be out there as well. My GF's dad is in town, and I'm going to see if he wants to co-drive with me for either Sat. or Sun. I need to talk to him before committing though. I should know for sure by Thursday or so.

However, the BW Clinics typically have three run groups at most for the entire day. In the morning, the groups are split between the West and East loops (they run simultaneously), and in the afternoon each group rotates on the full track. In other words, lots of track time.
You're required to have an instructor only for the first two orientation laps in the morning and again in the afternoon, but instructors are available all day long. Otherwise, it's just open track. No times are taken, since it is not a competition event. It also creates a low-key atmosphere, which is nice if you're new to track driving.
Keep in mind that the price includes all the instruction you could want, a pretty good lunch and credit towards a photo or other shop items.

Well what do you know, the racing gods have been kind to me, and someone finally came through with an enduro ride. I'll be there for sure now, although driving a Miata in the 3-hour night race on Saturday instead of a Z.

Are you guys heading up there Friday, or Sat. morning? Where are y'all coming from. We should caravan.
