Spring Mountain extension video
Here's a pretty slow lap around the new addition at the Spring Mountain track in Pahrump, Nevada. It was running at 3.3 miles I believe... the best part of the new piece is "the drop", where I'm pretty sure the car almost gets airborn. It's at about 1:26 in the video.

. "The Drop" was really fun though. Quite the elevation change and a good place to make up time on other cars if you know how to do it right.
Hmmm...looks very busy, and not very flowing. Overall, it doesn't seem unique in terms of overall layout. Maybe I've been spoiled by Watkins Glen in my past, but there don't seem to be any really sweet signature turns...just a bunch of lefts and rights. I know it's too hard to tell from a video, because you don't see all the nuances of the track...bumps, dips, etc...but I'm picturing dropping into the boot at the Glen, the uphill at Limerock, 3-6 at Willow Springs...I'm not seeing anything remotely like that here...hmmm.
Was it fun to drive?
I think I'm just a sucker for severe elevation changes...downhill super fast under compression...yummmm!

It is really fun to drive and quite challenging. There is one severe elevation change named "the drop" and one other not so severe one thats a little more mild than "lost hill" at Buttonwillow. There are some off-camber turns, decreasing radius turns, and one tricky late apex. I thouroughly enjoyed it. Of course I have only run there and Buttonwillow.

Cool. It definitely looks challenging...that's what I meant by busy...constantly turning, adjusting, etc. If you get some time on some different tracks, I think you'll understand what I mean. Most of them seem to be a little more flowing, and most have some very interesting signature turns, etc. As I said though, it's really hard to tell from video...you don't get any sense of speed, no peripheral vision, bumps don't register, etc.
Zillinois,
I've been driving Road Atlanta on Forza, and have always marveled at it when watching pro racing. I would LOVE to drive that track and Road America. I'm very jealous.

Here's a map for reference... you can see they will have different configurations available... and one very long straigtaway between 7R and 7 if they opened that up.

^^^Thanks dirtroad. Ok for more of a perspective...
I was going 120mph through 3R going into 4R which is the off-camber turn (5th gear to 3rd gear).
100mph before braking into 8R
114mph going into 8(16).
9R is that EXTREMEMLY late apex.
7R (Zora's Run) is the second, milder elevation change.
