yeah just do it yourself, im sure you can come up with cooler ideas that what you can buy
mine is very subtle.
i ordered a little kids sticker set from nismo japan and did the logo and graphics to match my car at the bottom with a r-tune logo beside the visor

Get an open face one. Its easier to put on and to take of. Plus in summer time it doesnt get as hot when you wear it. I think for auto X you need a SNEL 95 or better if i'm not mistaken (someone correct me if i'm wrong.)
I see guys at my local autoX have these awesome Playstation helmets with these crazy paint jobs on it. BUt as others said do you really need it. I mean i rather put my own few stickers on it and call it a day.

The 2005 just came out in October, so that means the Snell 90's just got phased out. 95, 00, and 05 are what's in.

I'm not sure if this is a regional rule or SCCA but my region requires SA 2000 or later. Everybody has been recommending buying a 2005 rated helmet so you get 10 years of use out of it as opposed to only 5 more years out of a 2000 model.

If you only plan on doing 5 or less track events a year, and I'd guess 10 or less autocrosses, then yeah, buying a Snell '05 model will be good for you... but if you plan on getting into it, you're gonna need a new helmet about every 5 years anyway.
Unless you plan on only doing auto-x get a full face helmet. I wouldn't worry about getting a SA2005 if you can get the same style SA2000 for a big discount the 2000 will last till 2010. I go through a helmet every 3 years or so. The insides end up desinigrating after washing and wearing them a bunch of times. The outside ends up getting a bunch of cosmetic scratches that don't look cool. I'm thinking about a new helemt right now just need to go try them on before I decide. The short list is: Sparco WTT F1, Arai gp5, and the Bell Dominator. I've found a big part of being fast for me is being comfortable, so even if you want to buy the helmet online go to a shop and try it on first.
