Check with the SCCA.

I know if you are a SCCA member attending a SCCA sponsored event that they offer supplimental coverage.

There is a big difference between racing and a high performance driving event (HPDE)/driving school. My insurance agent (Cincinnati) said there was no problem with a driving school. It has controlled passing and instructors, although I did not (and hopefully NEVER will) make a claim.

I'm sure these guys will ask for an arm, leg, and 1st born, but if you're doing anyting outside of HPDE, may be your only choice:

Oh yeah, they have a 'sponsorship' link... just for you!!

Good Luck!! Let us know what you come up with

Your Insurance agent is dead wrong! I am an insurance agent whom represents Cincinnati Insurance Co. in Michigan and all drivers training on a track is excluded.

This is a cut and paste directly from an Ohio Personal auto policy from Cincinnati....

EXCLUSIONS

4 Any motorized vehicle while:
A. Operated in, or in practice or preparation for, any demolition, racing or speed contest regardless
of whether such contest is prearranged or organized

B. Participating in a performance driver or racing training program or vehicle performance testing of
any kind to include, but not limited to, training or testing within a facility designed for racing
whether or not competition is involved

Everyone MUST read their own policy DO NOT rely on your Agent to tell you "its Covered" examine the policy wording where it says EXCLUSIONS. OR, If your policy lists ALL the items that ARE covered then scan that section to see if it reads specifically HPDE, performance driver training, etc is covered.

Believe me, I had an off last September and I am insured with Cincinnati, I am paying for the damages out of my pocket.

Never race a car you can't afford to push off a cliff (with your insurance agent watching).
