No V8. They use a 3.0L Twin Turbo (internal actuator) VQ motor. The GT300 class uses the 3.5L N/A

I saw the older versions of these cars up close and in person at JGTC in Fontana couple years ago. They looked/sounded so badass...these new ones are even sexier...

thanks for the pics!

i have wallpapers for like a month now!

that test car has the clear tail lights in

here is one of those pics i added some lighting effects to and made it B&W

They used the 3.0 VG with turbos last season.

I heard they're going to bump to a V8 due to regulation?? Is this true?

dont know about that, but its possible 2007 could be the last year of the Z in super GT. im sure in 2008 or at the latest 2009 they will return to the GT-R.

if they win this season then they could go out on top winning the championship every year

Plus, it will still be in production for awhile so most teams will not let it go so easily. At least not the GT 300 cars.

The AWD on the GTR is banned correct? I don't see all teams adopting the GTR so quickly since theres not a huge advantage.

AWD is allowed in GT, but it carries a very significant weight penalty.

I agree with mc350z and that 2007 will probably be the last year of the Z in GT, assuming the new GTR is released in 2007. It will probably take a year of testing to develop the proper aero package, chassi and etc for the new GTR.
