Motorsport Ranch 3.1 Mile course-pics and video. ZCON 2006 preview!
Attended another Drivers Edge DE event a few weeks ago at Motorsport Ranch in Ft Worth. We ran the new 3.1 mile track for the first time and it was my first time ever running there counter clockwise, so it was basically an entirely new track for me. This is the track where the track day for ZCON will be held but we'll only be running the 1.7 mile course.
Runoff room in the new section is still a little rough, but it really adds a lot to the course with plenty of elevation changes, a blind hill and I now have to use 2nd gear in one section. Downsides are few passing zones in the new section and the potential to roll your car if you go off track in a few spots.
The car handled great all weekend and I was testing out the new adjustable caster/camber arms from SPL Parts. Installed them the night before so didn't have time to get it aligned, but we set them close enough to the factory arms just by eyeballing them and a few measurements. They performed flawlessly with great turn in response.
info on them is here: SPL CasterCamber Arms
My only mishap of the weekend was a cracked test pipe on the passenger side. It sheared off right at the flange at the header. Luckily there is a full service shop on site at MSR and they were able to get it welded up in time to make my last session on Sunday.
Here is a video of a few laps from my second run session I believe.

Here are a bunch of pics:
I have almost a full session of video following Steve in the grey 350z above-just need to get it uploaded.
Thanks go out to Kuah at SPL for getting my prototype camber arms completed in time for the event-they worked great! Adding some camber eliminated my tire scalloping issue. Also, thanks for getting me the Stoptechs so fast after I caught the stock brakes on fire at Texas World Speedway last month.
Hope to see a lot of new faces and Z's at the track day for ZCON. Sign up, you won't regret it.

There is a silver supercharged NSX out there sometimes that's trailered and always on hoosiers that's pretty fast, but most of the NSX's I run into aren't as quick as you'd expect. Sorry for cutting that vid a few seconds short.

Still waiting on the release date unfortunately. Car handled amazing during zcon and I broke out the hoosiers for the event. So far I have zero complaints about the KTS coilovers. Hope to have video from zcon soon as I borrowed a camcorder from a friend and am waiting for him to send it to me. I'll post as soon as I get more info back on the coilovers.
