Buttonwillow June 10th w/ NASA
I am going to go the NASA event at Buttonwillow on June 10th and 11th. It would be nice to see some of the SoCal Z guys out there.
Anyone want to join?

I will be running at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with Speed Ventures that weekend. Buttonwillow sounds more fun than LVMS in 110 degree weather, but Vegas is cheaper and that track is used only once or twice a year for HPDE events. Oh how I miss Buttonwillow... Have fun Dave!
Tempting Dave, very tempting. I'm heading to SOWS this Sunday for my first outing in the Z06...can't wait! I'll let you know on Buttonwillow. The big problem is that I'm going out of town for a wedding on the weekend of the 3rd, and I'l have tons of 'house chores' to do the following weekend. Hmmm....

Hey Mikey! Yep, the wedding's over and it's open season at the track.
I can barely stand waiting 'til Sunday...going to be fun!!! Also, my new boss (Dino Crescentini) is bringing his 911 turbo out with us, so hopefully I'll learn something from him.
He drives World Challenge Touring and GT, and won a GT Race in a LG vette with our brakes last year: http://www.stoptech.com/company_info..._weekend.shtml

Yep...much to teach about driving and business...an excellent combo, and he's killer at both!
I haven't planned any other events as of yet, other than an industry insider day with the guys from Mackin. I have a couple of weddings this summer and fall, but I'm fairly open.
We need to plan a trip up to Sears and/or Laguna though. I'm sure Dave will show us the ropes. I AM going up there this year to drive. I keep saying it, but I'm doing it this year.
Also, what's your car weigh now mike? I know you keep ripping stuff out of it.
I got my car corner weighed the other day, and it was 3307 with a 200lb driver (me), harness bar, harnesses, and 1/2 tank of gas. Cross weights were under 30lbs. off on one, and about 20lbs. off on the other...almost perfect weight balance. Mine only puts down 365whp/356tq, so I think your power to weight ratio should have me beat. I'm sure it will be plenty fun though, and not bad for being completely stock!

The ZO6 is definately no slouch, thats for sure. Its funny because my car weighs the same as it did when you saw it at Buttonwillow. Although I took out a bunch of weight, I added more with the turbo kit, extra accessories, bigger brakes, and so on. Last time I corner balanced it, it was 3,240 with a full tank, no driver. I have since replaced the OEM hatch and Nismo wing with a wingless CF hatch and lexan window so I am guessing that I will be around 3,180 or 3,190 when I scale it again in a couple of weeks. I will also be doing dry carbon doors with no windows and stuff like Rickdogg's car soon which will shave a good chunk of weight, but I will be putting a lot back in as well with a full roll cage. So I still have a relatively heavy car, but if I hadn't done all of the weight reduction things I can only imagine what it would weigh.
BTW, I am planning on going to Sears Point October 7th with N.A.S.A.

Holy Monkey...you aren't messing around...carbon fiber everything!
My car's all plastic, so there's not too much I can do to save weight. My seat saved a bit of weight, but I think that was offset by the harness bar/harnesses. I should be able to get about 20lbs. out on the battery (which is sitting in my garage but I was too lazy to mess with), and if I decide to do headers with high-flow cats, that should knock 30lbs. off (and give me 30whp). It already has a titanium muffler from the factory, so nothing to save there. Our brakes are much larger than stock, but lighter, so that will probably only save me a couple lbs...maybe 10 tops? Other than that...not much to do without tearing interior out, etc. So, If I did the above items I can probably get down to 3040lbs. or so, and have about 390hp at the wheels...7.8 lbs. per whp (6.6 lbs. per hp as magazines rate, assuming 15% drivetrain loss)...should be nice. I'd really love to get it down below 3000lbs. though.
Damn...Sears Point on October 7th. Wouldn't you know it, that's the date of my buddy's wedding!!!
Are they running on the 8th as well? His wedding is in San Fran. on the 7th, so that could work if they're offering the 8th as well.

Jritt, Infineon is Saturday and Sunday. If you're up in the area than you should join us on Sunday. I'll be returning from my honeymoon just in time for that weekend.
My car weighs, a lot since all my mods have added weight. Nothing steam roller tires don't solve.

Jeff, your Z06 will be very mean on the track after all of that. You will have a ton of fun with it for sure. Like Dave said, the N.A.S.A. event is both Saturday and Sunday. I will only be running Saturday because thats a very long drive from Vegas with a truck/trailer and I have to be back at work on Monday. If for some odd reason I won't need to come into work that Monday then I will most likely stay for both days, but I assume that since I will be taking Friday off to drive up there, I will already be behind. Its hard for me to get all the way up to Sears Point so I definately would rather have two days out there than one. I won't know for sure until the day before I leave.
Not going to make it.
I did get my new Z out on SOWS memorial day though. The car is nuts! I am absolutely stunned by how well the car handles. The power is nice, but the handling is mental for a stock car!

Tire trailer is all loaded up with track rubber and a spare set of hoosiers. Who would of thought I could carry 8 275 width tires in my little box.
See everyone down there.
