New Event: SpeedVentures at Laguna Seca 11-4&5!
Weekend of November 4th and 5th, 2006
Base Price: $335 one day, $495 both days
Instruction:+ $30 per day (required for novices)
Duration: 2 days / 4 - 6 hours of track time per group!**
Track: The full track at Laguna Seca (Monterrey, CA)
Registration is open: https://speedventures.com/event_forms.asp
Timing: There are currently transponders available for rental
Laguna Seca Friday: Walkups registrants are more than welcome for this event, as there is plenty of space left.
Event Info:
Laguna Seca is a legendary 2.238 mile track in Central California, and one of the two most in-demand tracks in the west. Come out with us and you'll get the best track time per dollar value you'll see at Laguna. Test your skills on the world-famous corkscrew and compare your times to those set by the big names of ALMS, NASCAR, CART and the stars of yesteryear. Laguna Seca is a challenging course best suited to intermediate and advanced drivers.
Note: Noise Restrictions at Laguna Seca: We believe this will be a 92db day (rather than the usual 90db day), but are awaiting confirmation at this time. What does that mean? Basically a guy sits off to the right of the track and takes noise readings. If you go over the limit, you will be black flagged and told to go into the pits and figure out a way to quiet the car down. People with loud cars (RX-7's in particular) will need to make adjustments for this event. The most effective and easiest adjustment is simply lift off the throttle when you go by the sound station. Another option is to add a turndown to the exhaust, which you can do with a clamp-on. See this thread for more information.
There is no aftermarket rollbar requirement for this event.

*Novices in this case are those who have not driven on a track before.

Looks like I'll be going afterall. Probably not in the Z though because I'm still getting her ready for my season closer the following weekend and I don't have enough heat cycles left in the tires..
Dave:
Look me up there. Love to connect after reading so many of your very outstanding posts.
My car is at the Pomona Fairplex this weekend in the Nitto Tent. They have the sport compact drag championships this weekend there.
I will be at parent teacher weekend at my daughter's school.
But if any of you lads drop by, tell Leo Kang that you know me and they can give you a closer look at the car.
Cheers.
Ed

Ed, are you still planning on going to Infineon the weekend after this? Thats two weeks in a row of LONG towing. I am scrambling to find a new trailer to purchase so I can make it up to Infineon. My car will be at SEMA the weekend of this Laguna Seca event though.

The car was at the Pomona Fairplex this weekend in the Nitto booth, during the sport compact drag championships, and Leo said a lot of people were looking her over. Time to get out of the tent and onto the asphalt.

Neither one of these are available for 2006 fronts, only pre 06...
Thanks though.
What is available are EBC yellow stuff pads. Anyone try these?

After some calling around I was able to find a place that has Poeterfield R4' and custom made Raybestos ST-43's for the 06 fronts so i"m probably going with Portefield front and rear.
I found them on racebrakes.com but i had to call them.
