LOL ... damn!! Someone beat me to the punch!!

Registration is now open for our February 10th & 11th HPDE and Time Trial at Virginia Int'l Raceway's Full Course. And yes... this is a High Performance Driver's Education event. This means there will be run groups and passing zones based on experience level. Instructors will be provided, there will also be classroom sessions tailored for the different run groups as well.

Your entry fee includes a dinner banquet Saturday night as well as water/gatorade during the school. Extra banquet tickets are $20. The banquet also serves as our 2006 Time Trial awards banquet... so if you're a time-trialer, please plan on attending.

As in past years, we are negotiating a weather clause that will protect us in the event of inclement weather. Basically, we will have the option of cancelling the event based on weather.com forecasts up to 72 hours in advance without penalty. If we start the event, and encounter surprise weather, we should be able to pro-rate refunds and credits based on track time used.

Please make sure to enter your previous on-track experience on MotorsportReg.com. This helps us put everyone in the proper run group. If you're an instructor, but have not instructed with us before, we must approve your MotorsportReg account as an instructor account before you can register as an instructor for our event. Please email me for more details on this process.

Here's a DIRECT LINK to the event registration page

This event will fill up quickly, but since its full course, and we have four different non-instructor groups, we should have room for most everyone who's willing to brave the questionable weather.

Hope to see many of you out there!!

Stacy count me in for photo purposes as long as the weather is decent & my son's basketball season doesn't get in the way.

I don't want to tick them off. They seem to be nice guys. I love shooting pics at VIR.

Quick bump, for what its worth...

This event is almost to capacity... solo, intermediate, and beginner groups are maxed out... advanced instructed group is close, but I think there may be 8 or so slots left there.

Right now we're sitting at about 170 enties, with a small waitlist for the beginner/novice, and probably one for intermediate as well.

We're looking OK on instructors at the moment... can't WAIT to get back on track!!

You guys have fun - you guys are pretty brave to drive VIR in mid-winter. Yet, the full coarse now has to be hands down my favorite track I have ever driven. And when I was there - it started out at 27F - and actually it made the track even more fun. Nothing like learning car control when it is dry and cold!

Good idea...
  1. Sign up through MotorsportReg.com as normal, it will automatically put you on the waitlist for a particular group
  2. As slots become available, they will be filled on a first-paid basis, so better to go ahead and pay when you register, even on the waitlist
  3. If enough slots do not open up to confirm your entry, we will of course roll over the full amount towards a future TZC/THSCC event
