An AutoX gone bad....

the pics are terrifying...that GT3 looks like a serious autoX car...just makes you feel sick seeing it destroyed b/c of a stupid mistake

As far as the GT-3, it will probably be fixed. The other cars may end up be the ones being "totalled."

I feel bad for those cars. Since this was a timed event (even though those cars were just parked) I doubt insurance will cover a lot of that damage.
wow...thats ridiculous...clutch confused with brake...makes no sense...if ebrake brake and clutch are all mess up why not just **** up the tanny and throw it into like first gear? and maybe hit one car...
I speculate this might have been what happened:
This was an experienced driver and a very good one at that, he was posting the fastest time for the session in his C4 Vette and he had a shot at running in (what appears to be) a race preped Porsche GT3. I'm pretty sure all eyes were on him to see how he would do. I think he probably had a good run and to top it all off he wanted to have a finish that would impress those watching. So he probably came through the finish lights intentionally hot. Maybe he was looking to do some kind of clutch kick, or something, to invoke a drift at the last second where the 90 degree turn was at the end of the finish slowdown zone inorder to make an impression on those watching. He's probably done that a lot of times w/ his Vette, but the GT3 was obviously going to be different. That's probably when things went wrong.
Call it a consipiracy theory, but it seems to make more sense if it was a cheap stunt gone bad.

However it could be real easy to get into a GT3 that has all the pedals way offset to the right, clutch is in the middle, and make a mistake if you were use to an AT. I am not saying that is what happen here, just a better theory than yours. Last edited by ULLLOSE; Apr 25, 2007 at 07:09 AM.
