It was a race lap - #7 of 18. The As worked really well because of the cool temps. The race day prior we also ran As but with temps at about 80 degrees lap times were slower and I conserved more so I could push late in the race.

Our target hot pressures are in the 38-39 Front and 36-37 Rear. If I recall, we ended up about 1 pound below that target after this run.

So. . . for a 20-30 minute lapping session, A6s are faster on cooler days, Rs are faster on hotter days. I have both, so just trying to figure out when to use each most effectively. That's pretty high for pressure compared to what I normally run, but I'll have to try it to see how it feels compared to where I usually run. Thanks for the info.

Pretty sure it was 20 minutes. It was the day 2 T2 (Group 5?) National race.

I would say A6s are always faster but the R6s may last longer and wont drop off as much. In the last 3 years I've only ever run an R6 in a race once (Heartland Park on the right front wheel we run an R because the As wont survive the carousel).

It all depends on how comfortable you are when the car starts skating around on you. In many cases I've run my fast lap after the tires went away and the car didn't feel as planted ... so even when they get hot, the As can still be the faster tire.

Nice. What group was that with? Must be NASA! Most don't run the bypass, the cyclone rocks!

Thanks! I would like to think so. I need to go a little faster though to get that lap record. That time was on the 8th heat cycle on my A6's. I think on some fresh ones I can dip into the high 1:40's.

Default Summit Point - Main Track - 1:24.45x

Just got back from Summit for the SCCA National where we ran T3 for the first time. Balance is a little off - moderate push in turn 1, 9 and 10 and big push in 6 through the carousel. We'll have to work on corner-weights to fix that. The ABS went wonky again too. Not what we're capable of, but pretty good for a first-crack at a T3 setup. Scaled at 3340 pounds after this run.

Track: Summit Point Main Track
Date: May 21, 2011
Best Lap time: 1:24.45x
Car: 2007 350Z HR
Tires: Hoosier A6 255/35/18 stickers
Brakes: Brembo
Other Modifications: SCCA T3 Spec - T3 Restrictor Plate, Springs, Bars, Custom Exhaust - Single Straight Pipe with Cats Removed, Custom UpRev Tune, Moton Triple-Adjustables, 3340 lbs.
Lap Notes: Mid 70s, mostly sunny, high humidity.
