Default Rotors - any difference in them?

There have always been a lot of discussions here on brake pads but I've never really seen much on rotors.

After 30K miles, my stock rotors are pretty much shot so I'm looking to get some replacements. Common sense tells me to stay from the cheap generic rotors sold by PepBoys/AutoZone/etc. Are aftermarket rotors significantly better than OEM rotors or are they all about the same?

I read that the frozen rotors are supposed to last longer, but all things considered, I'm pretty happy with getting 30K miles on my OEM ones. That's 6 track days and about 50 autocross events.

Any suggestions?

You may want to ask Chase because he has some aftermarket Stoptechs in the front. I think they are slotted rotors but he bought them for about the same price as the OEM rotors if I remember correctly. I believe he said he noticed a difference but you may want to check with him first hand.

I'm still with OEM rotors

The Frozen Rotor website sends internet special emails all the time that brings the price in line with the cheaper blanks. Just something to think about.

Cryo treating does help with abrasion and for those of us who raced 240Zs in IT, the cryo treated rotors would last about 50% longer then an untreated factory rotor - bascially three race weekends instead of two.

FWIW I cooked the solid rotors I got from them on the first track day at PR (Seattle raceway). I run semi-metalic pads, so it's fairly harsh on them. I was also running R-comp tires...I was hitting around 140 MPH on the front straight, so that first big braking zone got everything super hot - by my 2nd session, the front rotors were warped

I've also tried cheap drilled rotors...those didn't warp , they cracked!

I've been running plain old centric brand rotors in the rear of my base model (fronts are stoptech bbk) with great results. I think they're better than the factory rotors in terms of cracking and wear, and they cost a fraction of the price. I've probably gone through about 10 of them since I've owned the Z. Can be bought at cobalt friction.
