The threads title needs to be changed! That's why I started a new thread.

I agree. A mod needs to change the topic at least on this instead of lock the other one down. It is in stock class now.

Okay, HORAAAYYYY!!! Now the SCCA has obsoleted all models but the Nismo in B Stock. I have an 08 with less than 1000 miles and it has smaller springs and rear sway bar. Boy am I excited.

btw keep in mind this is a new classification, so the 12 month rule can be applied.

Ulllose - I read something in that SCCA file about the STi and Evo being moved from BSP to ASP...was that just an idea, or was that decided?

That is out for member comment, just an idea at this point. If you think that makes BSP better for your Z, write a letter.

Lack of knowledge? So you are saying a guy that talks to the SEB and the SEB has a lack of knowledge on this? I am just saying where I heard it directly from. So like I said, I was right all along. I know you are supposely a part of the SEB, but so was the people he talked too. So EOD.

A single SEB member does not speak for the SEB. The SEB speaks as a group, anything you get from one member is their opinion. You can only talk to the SEB at one of the SEB town hall meetings, which take place at the Solo Natls and the SCCA natl convention, but no rule changes are class changes are done there. Other than that you can send a letter to the SEB and get a reply in FasTrack, but you will not have a conversation with them. The only thing that is ever official from the SEB is what is printed in FasTrack, end of story, no matter what anyone may "say" to you.

At the time you "talked" to the other guy the Nismo was not even on the SEBs plate, he gave you his opinion. I can also tell you at the time the car was classed in BS the guy you talked to was no longer on the SEB.

It is simple, you send a letter to seb@scca.com, the SEB will reply in FasTrack, that is the only way things get done. I am not sure how to make the process any more clear to you.

btw, no supposedly about it, read the FT minutes and you will see my name on the board. One of us knows what they are talking about....

I actually agree with this call. I just don't think the Nismo upgrades are enough to make it competitive in A Stock.

Time will tell.

The way I read the SCCA Solo Rule Book is that if the NISMO version of the 350Z is on the same line as the normal 350Z, yhou can upgrade to NISMO 350Z parts and still be in B Stock. anyone else read it that wayh?

There is no update/backdate in stock class. If you want to build a 2007 or 2008 standard 350Z into a Nismo you have to do the complete package change, everything. So you will even have to do the extra welding.

+1 ....otherwise you could just upgrade certain parts that would help at autoXing and leave off others that wouldn't.

I don't think it would be competitive in A Stock either, but historically that wouldn't have meant that it would have gone into B Stock, though: http://sccaforums.com/forums/permali...howThread.aspx.

I think Stock classifications have gotten a lot more aggressive in the year and a half since I wrote that, to the class' detriment.
