just curious if any other members are coming to participate or watch
the Chin Motorsports HPDE event on Sunday April 13th, i know
JETPILOT said he might come, not sure who else is.
this is my fourth event so i hope i get solo qualified, tired of having the
extra weight in car with instructor-has been kind of a joke-the first
guy i had was a good teacher and i learned a lot that morning and by
the afternoon he said the few mistakes i was making i corrected almost
right away, second event i did not learn any new ideas or techniques
third event i was almost as fast as my teacher with the same car
and she had many more years of experience and she was running race
tires-so i am going to ask to get signed off hopefully in the a.m. so
i can run by myself in the afternoon

There was a cancellation and I got and paid for my spot today. So I am in. This will be my first event for Chin so I'm in novice class.

i usually drive over in the a.m.-i am only about 50-55 miles from the track
i do my car prep the night before and just drive on my track day tires/wheels
but i may have my wife bring my other set in case it rains(she will drive down
mid-a.m. in our truck)my azenis rt-615's are horrible in rain but suprisingly
my toyo t1rs on my stockers do pretty good

given you my# prior, i will sent it to you later
i was hoping to see you and your wife before i left on Sunday
being my brakes failed on the 1st session after lunch i had to stop
early, i hung around a while but we kept missing each other before
i left, i talked to Nick for a while and then headed home-i left and
went to the Nissan dealer to discuss trading the car in for an 08 6mt
after a few days of dealing it is not going to work out-i still owe a little
more than it is worth due to my high mileage(50k miles in 2yrs)
so i will be keeping this car and having to modify it some more to meet
my needs and desires with performance

I know you really wanted that manual trans. That sucks.
I was probably out on the track for the last session when you left. Hopefully by June 14th I'm able to install a roll bar, seat and harness. The stock seats suck for spirited driving.

in her car during her session-it definately made a difference with driver
confidence and that connection with your car feeling
i just ordered my brakes today-ordered a set of stoptech 1 piece
slotted rotors and centric semi-metallic pads(the company who now
owns stoptech)for street use and before my next track day i am
going to order some dedicated track pads and replace the friction
rings on my 2-piece stoptechs that i have now and use only for
track days and see how that does
i am probably going to get my computer upgrade done this summer
and get brakes not long after and do my next track day in the fall
my son is going to be 16 soon and i am trying to prepare for that
expense so i have to put off my fun a little longer

so hopefully you can join us
if you want to drive on the track you need to join Chin motorsports soon
and registration is usually about 7-8 weeks in advance for novice spots
on the roster-otherwise they fill up in usually 1-2 days
