Is there interest in Hawk track pads for non-Brembo calipers?

+1 on the DTC70 and DTC60. Personally I don't even consider the Hawk Blue or Black compounds anymore now that I've run the DTC compounds.

Porterfield cut me a custom set of DTC70 fronts and DTC60 rears for my base 2006 350Z and I'm very happy with the track performance. Track braking is outstanding. These are NOT street pads: very dusty, very noisy, and they don't work well until you get some heat into them.

I never done it before because I never had the necessary tool. Here is a DIY on it.

yummy yoshinoya i'll change some pads for that.

its very easy to change pads. only takes one 14mm screw to be removed and a c clamp to push the piston back in.

In order for Hawk to produce a batch of these pads, they need a 25 pairs.

How many people would be interested in front track pads (e.g. Hawk Blue 9012, HT-10, DTC-70)?
wht year

This would be for the 2006+ cars with the larger Q45 style calipers.

A quick update on the track pad situation for the 350Z / G35 non-brembo.

If you have the 2003-2005 first generation Maxima brakes, a member on this forum will be testing our following package:

Front: Ferodo DS3000
Rear: Hawk Blue 9012

If you have the 2006+ second generation Q45 brakes, the only option is as follows:

Front: Porterfield R4
Rear: Porterfield R4 or Hawk Blue

More info to come..

I would be interested in 3 or 4 sets of HP+ if they made them for 06+ base brakes.

I just put in some Project Mu HC+ pads or else I would have been down :/ I think the HC+'s will be fine for my purposes though, club race pads might have been a bit much. I may be interested in a couple sets of HP+ or Blue pads in the near future though.

As much as I like hawks, I would recommend staying away from blues. They are just too abrasive and eat rotors. There are better pads out there than are also better wearing. The Blue compound is about 20 years old now.

HP+ front are not available for the 06+ cars, only for the rear. However, Porterfield makes a very similar pad for the front, the R4s...

thanks for the heads up! are HT-10's a better option? I would do RS-4's but I just dont see them being a vast improvement over the HC+'s since theyre both kind of street/track pads with a friction coefficient and operating temperatures in the same range.

We just spent 2 days at VIR testing the HT-10 on our WRX, they are definitely a great compound. Once Hawk decides to make some for the 350z non-brembo pad shape, this is the pad to get.

In the meantime, one option is Porterfield R4 front, Hawk Blue rear, or just R4 all around.
