DC Pro Solo Results
Looking at the results I see B Stock is under protest. We'll have to wait and see what happened. I'm guessing it has something to do with the 968 that ended up DNF for all of his runs except red lights.
In the meantime, a 350Z was in 1st!
Jason took 1st in his 2007. Great event!

does anybody down here in the south run a BSP Z? ive been thinking about running it in my region but if I'm gonna get murdered by Evo's I'm not gonna go to any pros, SEDiv's, or nats.

...unless they have a good drive
I run BSP and have been doing ok...but I don't have any national level cars/competitors in my class that I know of. (I run the North West Region). I'll be running the Packwood Pro/solo events in August...it'll be fun to see how I stack up then
DC Pro - I saw on another forum that the Porsche evidently had been pieced together from 2 cars and the owner wasn't clear about the meaning of stock. One post said there was more than just the AC missing.
I've seen radical swings in the last year from BSP to SM for cars in the SE. Dixie last year had 13 cars. This year at the Atlanta Tour the sole entrants in BSP switched to SM2 for competition.
IMHO, you pick the class that you want to prep your car to and run whomever shows up. That's competition.

Well I'm pretty sure I could win the championship in BSP in East Tennessee Region if I got some massive R-comps, coilovers, a good allignment, and a few more boltons, but i'm wondering how these cars would handle competition at bigger events. but what all were you running in BSP? yeah some of the mods that bump you to the modified classes are just silly..

Hey guys, thanks for the kind words.
It was a fun event, but then again all Fedex Field courses are. Down in FL we don't get much in the way of elevation changes or off camber turns. Adds an interesting wrinkle to it all.
The protest is of course unfortunate, as Travis was doing an amazing job kicking all of our asses. It's important to note that the protest is against the car, not the driver. It is an old car, and hopefully just an oversight. I spoke with him throughout the event and he seemed like a stand up guy, so no reason to believe that he would maliciously cheat. The way he was driving he didn't need it. On the flip side, illegal is illegal, and sadly the onus is on him to bring a legal car to the event. There was too much at stake to sit on this one. I did a lot of research on Saturday night and everything I found all said the same thing...that there was no a/c delete option, so I filed. But not without consulting pretty much everyone (ask them, they will tell you how annoyingly torn I was about it all
) In the end, it was not just me throwing papers....it seemed like the class was in agreement. Any of you who have raced with me or know me know that this isn't something I make a habit of. Hell, I could make a career out of losing to better drivers (right Mike???) or making stupid rookie mistakes (launching in neutral at the pro finale).
Supposedly his brother has already sent the documentation in proving the option, so if that is indeed the case, then I commend them and will formally apologize. They will have found a loophole that has evaded such long term B-Stockers as Bauer, Faulkner, Baker, Murray, etc... Good god, then we will start seeing these fast little P cars beating us and the 8's at every event! Otherwise, they have the opportunity to reinstall the A/C in the car and bring a legal car out to Toledo and/or nationals. Either way, I just hope this didn't create any kind of division in what I feel is a close class.
Just my $.02....

Jason, I know there would have to be an obvious flaw for you to protest. Either way it turns out, I'm happy that you did so well.
Good drive!
I get to see a 968 in the hands of a good driver this weekend in Gainesville. I'm headed down to N. Fla. to see family so it's a no brainer (and great excuse!) to run the Divisional. So far there is a RX-8 and a M3 also. We'll see what car works well on a go-kart track.

I race with Travis locally. He was unable to find the documents to show that that package was available without a/c so he did not appeal the protest. A/c was put back on the car. He is a stand up guy and a hell of a driver. I'm sure that anyone who was at the toledo pro could agree.

Mike, how did it go in Gainesville?

I had my first ProSolo event 2 weeks ago (North West Regional event) - WOW, I hadn't expected it to be so challenging and such a thrill! The pace of doing multiple runs back-to-back, and the drag racing start adds so much more to a normal AutoX event - I'm hooked!
Question: What's your technique for the launch? (I've drag raced [legally] before and have been able to cut 1.9s 60s times on street tires...but with a concrete surface and Hoosier A6's, the best I could do was a 2.182s 60' time)
I was able to take 2nd in NS1 (index: ASP, BSP, ESP), but was still 1.4s behind Mark Snell in his Exige S. I was #20 overall for indexed times.

Here's a shot of my dad driving my Z (I'm still working on the photoshop...):
