Default Carolina Motorsports Park - Oct 11-12

The Triangle Z Club / Tarheel Sports Car Club is hosting its last event of 2008 at Carolina Motorsports Park, October 11th & 12th

$325 gets you two days of track, classroom, and wet skid pad time. Lunch is included as well.

Cars that meet our minimum time trial requirements can add the time trial for $30.

If you're not sure you want to subject your car to the track, but you want to come out and have some fun, we're offering a skid-pad only option for $40. This gets you all-day access to our wet skid pad and skid pad instructors. You are also welcome to attend any classroom sessions, and even get a ride with any of our instructors (we have a few helmets we can loan out of you don't have access to an SA rated helmet.) Another $10 gets you a second day.

We run three track sessions per day, minimum 25 minutes each... and we pride ourselves on giving you quality track time during your sessions by limiting the number of cars per run group as well as making a concerted effort to ensure equally placed cars and enforced passing rules.

Our classroom sessions are the best in the industry... we run separate classrooms for each of our four run groups, this allows us to tailor each session to your experience level. We also feel that our in-car instructors are the best in the industry as well.

All experience levels are welcome, especially beginners. CMP is a great beginner track, but also has plenty to offer the track vets out there. CMP's facilities seem to be improving every time we go there... covered pits are available to rent, all paddock access roads have been paved, and the new timing tower/classroom is close and convenient. Not to mention the changes to the track they made this year!!

Email, post, or PM if you have any questions!

ALSO.... if making this a three-day weekend would make the event more desirable (albeit more expensive) please let me know via PM.

nahh you didn't miss it. deal just finally went through yesterday. been kind of quiet on the boards lately with trying to get everything done. ya ever feel like life is just going at about 150mph and not slowing down anytime soon??

anyhow... we bought a car/trailer package out of Colorado. Its a tube chasis car with a pontiac body, real similiar to a SCCA GT-1 Stock car but probably will run in SPO. The chasis is slightly smaller then a stock car, slightly lighter, but has similiar power. Runs a V8 sb chevy, around 465hp. NICE enclosed, a/c, trailer coming with it, however. OK so can you tell we spent WAY over our original target price of 4k??? I think we got a good deal, or so i hope.

Some of the tracks themselves don't allow them.

There are clubs that will allow them, you just have to ask yourself if you want to take the risk. We choose not to allow them, even though (for example) CMP would allow them because the 350Z (assuming we're talking about a 350Z Roadster) has roll hoops... even though they don't come anywhere close to passing a broomstick test.

CMP's Turn One events (usually on Fridays), NASA, possibly PCA... among others I think.

You're welcome to take advantage of our skid pad option, and you can drive it during our parade laps (usually at lunch on Sunday.)

Bill, give us some pics. And yes, as I was reading this I was thinking to myself, "he blew the budget, but he sounds happy about it"!
