California Speedway 9/20-9/21
I love that set up with the Roval. Alas, I have committed the car to a show on the 24th and cannot run that weekend and have it in satisfactory condition for the show. Next time.

I agree with Eagle1 that the Cal Speedway roval is a fun course. SpeedVentures puts on a good show as well. I'm impressed with the manner they run their events and recommend this event highly!

Hammad, do you still go to the Torrance Crossroads meet? What ever happened to Ben.
I'm the guy with the TN-charged DB Z.

Hey, I'm the guy in the silver Z! Sorry I missed you hammad, I had a student in the Ferrari F360 when you came over. Sorry, no transponder.
You were a little faster than me, I agree. Not to get into a measuring contest, but what kind of tires were you running? I was on street tires (damn it) and you looked like you were on R compound stickies! Also, I had my stock exhaust on the car. You really can feel a difference with a 3" set up.
Roy, the guy in the GT3 that crashed, did make it out ok. His ego took the worst of it (ok, the car did get hammered, too). Roy has run with us in Driving Concepts for years and is a pretty good driver. He and another student of ours Robert Green (in the Red Noble) came together.

And yes, Mark got the gasket issue resolved. We went to a more robust fastening of the manifold, comparable to what has been used on the 300TT motors, and also did some work on the motor mounts to reduce the torsion on the exhaust connections (guess which one is going to give up the ghost first when they start pushing and pulling )!!
The engine is really running smooth and pulls like a train. I could not be more pleased.
We also put in a ten pound bottle of retardant and three nozzles in the cabin, upgraded to five point harness system on both seats, and hard mounted a G2 datalogger, so I can start working on my game with more specificity.
Then got her detailed up, including the engine bay, and showed her at the annual California Club Car Show on Wednesday night. Awesome cars there, including the Hotchkis Racing Porsche 962 Camel GT car, a 1924 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, an Enzo Ferrari, a Talbot teardrop, a V-16 Caddy, mint Jag XKE and 140, half a dozen Astons and Ferraris, a racing Alpha, and of course vintage Packard, Lincoln, T-Bird, DeSoto woody wagon...you name it.
Now, it is time to get back out and have some serious seat time at SPEED!
Glad you guys got out there and had a great time. And that nobody got hurt in that incident with the Porsche and Noble. That is a very rare occurence in HPDE, but it does happen. Be careful out there lads.
Is anyone taking advantage of the $40.00 discount you get this Fri. or Sat. at Buttonwillow if you participated at Fontana last weekend? That would be great fun to run config. #18 were they take out the bus stop chicane.
