Default Sebring track event with Chin Motorsports

Just wanted to let any of the members interested there is a HPDE
scheduled for October 4 & 5 at Sebring International Raceway in
Sebring, Fl. registration is already closed but it is free to spectate.

I feel it is a good experience to see what track days are like before
actually spending the money to participate-they also allow spectators
to pay a fee to ride along with advanced drivers so they can get some
seat time to feel what it is like as well($20 for whole day or $10 1/2 day)

I know two other members and myself are registered to be there-hope to
see more come. link to site is www.chinmotorsports.com

I'll be there Saturday. Still don't know if I'm bringing my Z or just the Spec Miata. Need to get some new pads for the Z and haven't been able to motivate myself to do so....

Of course if I stuff the SM into the wall this weekend at Daytona then I guess I'll have to bring the Z.

Glad to hear you are coming, what's it like at Daytona? Is it as challenging
as Sebring? i imagine the banking has to play a significant role in car
control and confidence. Do they offer track days there? or just competition events only.

Of course you are going to be there, you better! I want to see you get
into the 2: teens for lap times this event, while i am shooting for the 2:30's in my slow underpowered Z. I think if the car loses about 100
more lbs and i get some r-comps i think low 2:30's is about all i will see
next season.

I don't think I will get anywhere close to the 2:1X. This will be my first time on the new shocks and the 18" wheels/tires. I will have a 305 on the back this time instead of the 295. I'm going to have to get the car setup again. I might even be slower than before, but I sure hope not!

Hey its still a good time coming to watch-where else can you go and see
about 75-85 exotic and modded out cars fly around a proffessional racetrack for free? Most people pay at least $60-80 to go watch that
kind of stuff normally-and with this group you get to walk into the pits
and paddock area-other sports car events most spectators only get
to watch from the infield or sit in the grandstands(or if you do you pay
a crapload of money-or have access to free tickets from certain sponsors)

i forgot you will need to get used to the new stuff first before going out
at full bore, maybe you will be able to push it after lunch once you get
a few sessions under your belt. You should still be under 2:30 i would
think which is still decent-but i have watched some of the races on speed
channel and those guys who drive in the series that has the Acura Rsx
and Mazda 6, those cars are doing 2:22-2:24 with less than 300 hp,
makes me sick-we definately have room to improve.

I will be staying here on Saturday night. It's in the middle of the track by turn 7. If you get a trackside room on a higher floor you can watch the racing. We usually go into the town of Sebring on Saturday night for dinner.

Guess I'm bringing the Z. I popped the engine on the Miata today at Daytona.

So.... who keeps racing brake pads for the Z in stock? Anyone have a set of R Compound tires they want to 'rent' me for a day.

I have a ton of Hoosier take offs you can have for cheap. None of the sets have more than 20-30laps on them...and those were mostly the TA practice laps, and new tracks that I havent been to.

PM me if you want some. I think they are mostly 265/285 18 sizes.

well i just found out one of the local doctors in my town that bought a
GTR took my advice and signed up with Chin Motorsports and is going
to be there on this Sunday-maybe he will let me go for a spin or at least
go for a ride with him-said he is looking forward to driving at the next
level instead of having to worry about cops or holding back on the street.

i also found out one of the new 09 corvette zr1's is going to be there as well.

Hi Coach... There are some people there with their immediate familly, and some are there alone. My wife and friends will be there. 2fast4ya's wife will be there. I even think my neighbors are comming. They want to knwo why I stay up to 4AM in the garage raising hell. I am bringing a cooler with some drinks and snacks for everyone. It's a good time for everyone.

I try include my wife whenever i can in the events i go to, she enjoys
cars and racing and all that stuff so that helps, luckily we are one of
the few couples that enjoy being together as much as we can even
after 12 1/2 years.
