Rota wheels with race slicks on a race track
Some of you may have read the other thread currently being discussed about Rota wheels and cracking.
Has ANYBODY ever witnessed this at a RACE TRACK? Barring hitting immovable objects where the wheel loses.
Would you trust a Rota wheel with race slicks on a race track?
Aren't FN01R-C's cast also? I've seen those on track many times.

I used a set of Rota Boost wheels at Sebring 2 weeks ago. I was hitting the curbing commando style and no issue with cracking or bending. I was using proxes R888's. There is a Subaru Time Attack team that uses them and they are pretty competetive.

I was actually just looking at your For Sale thread. Wish I had the money right now, those would be PERFECT for my next track day experiment.

Rota wheels are very common on the track. A wide variety of our customers purchase Rotas strictly for track use as they are very durable and inexpensive.
I've posted this in another thread but here is a post from someone with first hand track experience with these wheels. Having actual experience with a product really means a lot as there are tons of false claims/rumors online about Rota wheels.

2 track days, and 2 drag strip days with them-had 1 big slide about
60-70 foot sideways and slid off of the track my first time using them-
transitioned from asphalt to grass sideways-was surprised i did not
flip the car or damage the wheel-just had some grass/dirt stuck in the
bead of tire-has been fine ever since.

FN01RC's are cast. I have no experience with ROTA's but I have taken my FN's off track many times, ran over curbs and even nailed the leading edge of one so hard I dented the inner fender with the upper camber arm. Very strong wheels and very light for the price.

I have used both my Rota P45R and Torque in many racing scenarios with no issues.
Used them for a redline time attack with R-Compounds in front and slicks in the rear no problem.
Used them for street with street tires no problem.
Used for AutoX event and no issues there either with Slicks n Rcompound
Used them for multiple PDA and HDPE events they still keep ticking
People that do the bashing on Rota's tend to have never attended a track event.

All wheels used on a race track need to be inspected regularly. That does not mean Rotas or any other wheels are more prone to cracking. Inspect your wheels around each wheel stud hole and look for cracks propagating from the stud hole to the centerbore hole. Inspect every other place on the wheel where a hole was drilled and at any sharp casting or machining edges.
