Default Question for road racers, open track racers

I think I am ready to start tracking my car. I am trying to figure out what i need.

I am getting an extra set of wheels for tires, I have brakes, and helmet. What else do I need?

Harness bar, and harness?

extra pads and rotors? Don't plan to go ***** out, just go out and have fun.

Where do I begin, where do I go to get proper training?

Since you're in Dallas, here you go.

PM JasonZ-YA for any info you don't find in the link.

I seriously doubt you're ready for road racing. I think what you're looking for is HPDE.

I suggest Apex Driving Academy at MSR Cresson, which is just south of Forth Worth.

You can also try The Drivers Edge.

Well those were the two that I was looking for. I just wasnt sure if anyone else has participated in these and their thoughts.

I was also trying to figure out what I need to be prepared.

In truth, it's best to keep the car as stock as possible when you start out. Upgrading pads and fresh fluid is a good idea.

here are some great threads with really good advice:

I guess I really need to put together a HPDE and track day FAQ for this section. We have had some great posts over the pasts couple of years.

I can build a single FAQ instead of a bunch of stickes.

Maybe a Wiki?

That'll work! As long as we can add helpful info as they come up.
