There is nothing like opening up the 350Z on a open road course.

I like the quick right-left turn with the yellow bunker. What the hell is that thing?

First one is a great video. Kept up with the M5 pretty good in the straights. Impressive.

it was an Instructor driving the M5(modded).. Not bad for my 1st track event but i know i still need to improve and get seat time. I fried my brakes though..lol

The pad on the rear was COMPLETELY gone..lol that actual metal was grooved in by the rotors..WOW Also the pad frame was bent and the caliper left an impression and bent into the pad metal lining..

These literally feel out when Roger@Japtrix loosened the front brake caliper.. I picked it up and they crumbled..lol..

But... I bought a Brembo f/r kit today so now shitty OEM brakes wont be an issue anymore..

Welcome to the addiction! I did my first event about 1.5 years ago. Before I went, I planned on doing 3 to 5 a year to get a feel for it. I just went to my 16th or 17th event. So much for plans!

nice!!! I wish I could go to more HPDE's but $$ has become tighter and now I have to settle for autox.

But dayum, that first turn looked like you went in carrying too much speed, but you ended up coming out fine.....

The stock brakes are the worst I have ever driven, first session out they went into the rotors, very bad stuff...Really surprised they are that bad..
I have driven better brakes on a Mazda 6 before, seriously!!

Very nice driving for a novice! You are making the novice mistakes. You are hitting your apexes very nicely for the most part. I'd like to see you keep your foot in it a little longer on the straights, but that high speed and threshold braking takes confidence you haven't developed yet.

Wait til you get to Sebring in June. Homestead is a joke compared to Sebring. I hope you get to experience the full 12 hour course. Most tracks are a joke compared to Sebring. The straight going into turn 17 you should see about 160 MPH.

Good stuff!

P.S. You know you have a very good chance of popping that motor don't you?

Thankx for the advice JET... Your right though, i havent built up enough confidence yet to stay on it to the end. It was intimidating to have a turn coming up so quick (especially with OEM brakes). I honestly can say i knew the car could go faster at some points and would take tighter turns, but i didnt want to overdrive my skill level and what i know. I just bought a Brembo F/R kit so that will make me feel better in doing it, but i still need some seat time. And i honestly am suprised my motor has lasted up to this event..lol.. TONS of track passes on the car with zero issues. But i already started planning to build the motor (waiting on my daughter to be born for some down time this summer to start). please keep the advice coming. Im eager to get better and learn..
